KIA is back now with another commercial showing cute little turtles. Take a look then scroll down for more about the ad… and for KIA’s latest ad recap of guy saving a city-dwelling tree, click here.
The Music. This piano heavy track hasn’t been easy to identify. I’ve narrowed it down to two, though. Do you think it sounds like one of these?
“Daddy Fired the Doula Again” by Speedy Justice
“Blackness Zone” by John Flow
The Driver. The actor driving this brand new 2023 Kia Sportage is actor/model Charlie Wilson. He’s also in the news with some juicy info… he’s rumored to be dating actress/dancer Julianne Hough.
The Location. I can’t confirm or deny, but from what I’ve researched and read, this was filmed at St. Augustine Beach, Florida. Kia has also committed to donate to Sea Turtles, Inc. based in Texas. This organization exists to help rehabilitate injured sea turtles.
Thanks for dropping in…
-Out of the Wilderness

Recvd a reply from “Barking Owl” : Hi! So we did write the track. It’s written by a composer named Christopher Kemp but because we did it as a work for hire we are not technically allowed to release . You may make inquiry to KIA and if they get enough interests, they may release it.

The actor in this commercial reminds me somewhat of a cross between Richard Chamberlain and Christopher Reeve. Handsome fellow.

Whoever came up with the idea of trying position an average fuel economy SUV as an environmentally sound purchase is good at their job but a bad person in general. Also if sea turtles lay eggs on your beach then it’s not a good idea to drive your stupid car all over it with a bunch of knives eviscerating every living thing in your wake.
This commercial pushes the idea that if YOU get off your behind and collect litter on the beach before dawn then YOU can do YOUR part to save the world. The truth is, to prevent climate change from becoming irreversible, this country needs to rebuild itself from the ground up, so that Americans aren’t so compelled to be car dependent. Here’s an idea: the Auto and Oil industries should pay for it. They knew that oil was a finite resource, they knew the effects of climate change would be catastrophic, and they knew that to say so would hurt their profits, and they knew all of this as early as the 1950’s. A commercial with turtles isn’t enough to make up for that
