Bleu De Chanel is advertising a fragrance for men in a commercial starring actor Tmothée Chalamet (who also recently starred in this Apple commercial). On par for ads like these, not everyone will be a fan because they’re usually abstract and lean heavily on the side of art and interpretation. Take a look then scroll down for more!
The Music. Accompanying the visuals is a song called “Nights In White Satin” by The Moody Blues. Here’s the full track…
Will men buy Bleu De Chanel after seeing this ad? Probably not. Will women buy it FOR their men? Obviously. Somehow they’ll connect the scent with heartthrob Timothée Chalamet and their loved one and every time they catch a whiff they’ll be fantasizing about being in Timothée’s arms, not their boyfriends or husbands. OK, that’s a stretch but the scene will surely awaken them to good memories and good thoughts. Us men might not catch on to that but since when does that matter? If your woman is happy, it shall go well with you.
The Best of Bleu. This ad won’t win any awards and, except for the popular actor, it won’t be remembered for much longer than it airs on TV. But!! Bleu De Chanel is responsible for one of my favorite ads of all time. Expectations? Out the window for this guy, and I love the sentiment.
Where do these ads stack up on your list of favorites? Was it a good move to have Timothée Chalamet be the face of Bleu in the commercial? Chime in below, I’m expecting it from you… 😉
