Maybe the problem is me?

Bible study groups. There’s the person that prays too long, that one gal who cries all the time, or the couple that talks about marriage hurdles but everyone else in the group is single. Or how about the person who has all the answers? They’re never caught off guard because they just know how to practically solve every situation known to man. Or the prayer request one-upper who has their prayer request then a minute later has another one, then moments later they remember another one. Of course, you can’t have a Bible study without the person who shares every detail of their personal life or their work drama (as a prayer request, of course).

Or am I the problem? Those irrelevant details help shed light on what this person is going through. The guy who knows it all might actually have some good insight. The woman who cries a lot, well I could use a dose of her empathy. I listen to someone sharing about their neighbor’s mom’s friend who is dealing with a sick child and all I think to myself is…

IIIII……..DDDOONNNN’TTTT….. CCCCCAAAAARRRRREE…

Pray for me, y’all. I could use a little more empathy.

Since 2005, I've called Nashville home. I'm the leader of the pack, which includes a 13-year-old beagle and an 11-year-old blue heeler mix. My days include writing, video editing, and other fun activities. Thanks for checking out my blog, I hope you enjoy it!
