Subaru’s “Underdog” ad totally got me

I have no idea what I was watching on TV, but I will remember for a long, long time when I first saw this Subaro ad…

After it was over, I was totally not crying at all. Or was it that I was not totally crying? What is it called when you have a lump in your throat and almost cry? That was me. But seriously, if this commercial doesn’t tug at your heart strings, you are evil and you must be destroyed.

Subaru has a page on their website where you can meet the dogs from the ad, click here to go there. Meanwhile, I’ll just show you my favorite pup. Sure as cornbread goes with greens, I’m in love!

The ad was shot in Los Angeles and scrolling through the YouTube comments, I found a post from one of the trainers of these pups, Joel Silverman:

“Great to be a part of this. Thank you Subaru for giving me the opportunity to help you train all 8 wonderful dogs for this great shoot last month in L.A! After doing this for over 40 years, it is one I will always remember because Subaru took the time to cast special needs dogs that were actually living in foster homes or adopted that had never been on the set before.”

I think that says it all, doesn’t it? Kudos to Subaru for striking a chord in the hearts of animal lovers, dog lovers, and of course, people who might need a car. šŸ™‚
