KIA Sportage Commercial – The Klepto Eagle and Eagle Sounds

Is there anything more American than the bald eagle? I think not! KIA takes flight with that idea in a new Sportage commercial. The soaring kleptomaniac is the antagonist while the couple in the Sportage race to right what has been wronged. And yes, we are addicted to our phones. This commercial proves it. Take a look then scroll down for more info…

The Call. The commercial opens with the eagle screeching into the scene. I happened to record an eagle making some pretty awesome noises. I have no idea what the calls mean, but I betcha the other, younger eagle nearby knew exactly what was being communicated.

The Bird. I’ve loved eagles for a long time. When I can get photos of the majestic birds, it feels like a win for that day. Here are a few of my favorites and if you have a second, check out my gallery dedicated to Just Birds.

See you all tomorrow…

  1. It’s not a bald eagle. It’s an African Fish Eagle, a close cousin of the bald eagle, but not protected or endangered… Much ado about NOTHING.

  2. Kia, are you listening? You need to fire your commercial writer’s as they are going into territory that is totally out of bounds. There are other ways for you to make a commercial without bothering endangered animals. All your doing is encouraging people to disregard creatures that have been on this planet just as long as man has.
Yes, there was a time where man hunted wild game to survive, but those days are over, that’s like poaching dear, moose or bear and then leaving it there to rot.
Kia, you need to replace everyone associated with producing similar commercials and find another way to sell your products.
At this time, I will never purchase anything that you produce because of how you are promoting the fact that it’s okay to bother protected animal by any means, which is against morality.
As the last person stated: The only people who have any right to obtaining EAGLE FEATHERS is the NATIVE AMERICANS which use the FEATHERS in their RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES and even they have to follow protocol.

  3. I agree, this is totally wrong. Nobody should be bothering Eagles Nests or any other protected animal species just to make a commercial.
This is not the proper way to get people to buy any products.
This is totally against human morality, the next thing we know is that these creatures are no longer a part of our planet.

    1. I have to beg some pardons here it is absolutely against the law to disturb, harass even pick up an Bald Eagle feather from he ground. The fine for doing so can be quite high. I believe the only exception to the feather is the native Americans can have the because they are used in so religious functions.

  4. I totally agree, no one should touch an eagles nest. The commercial should be pulled. This is as stupid as the people getting selfies with wild animals!

  5. I think the commercial with the eagle is ridiculous it is the American bird, almost extinct and you have the nerve to show some chick losing her phone driving to the nest and getting the phone out of the nest who in the right mind makes your commercials they’re stupid you don’t touch a nest. Especially an eagle I don’t know I’m getting so tired of a commercials with stupidity and these people make lots of money I won would never buy a Kia cuz I don’t trust them but now that I’ve seen the commercial with humiliating the American eagle with some chick get a grip fire those people that make your commercials find something to makes it real no eagle is going to steal a phone and a Kia is going to find the phone in a nest really
