Sabrina Carpenter has a new video to accompany her song “Taste.” It’s not for the faint of heart; lots of blood and peculiar ways to hurt someone… so watch if you dare. The video stars Jenna Ortega as Sabrina’s arch nemesis. Take a look, then scroll down for a list of other pop, non-metal songs that fit into a morbid theme…
Quite graphic, huh? If you skipped it, good for you. I’m not typically a fan of blood and gore, I don’t think it’s healthy to watch that kind of stuff regularly. But I suffered through it! This isn’t the first song where a main character has these dark and dreadful desires. Check out a short list of other songs where someone ends up on the receiving of a jealous lover…
Elvis “Dirty, Dirty Feeling” – This line would never work in today’s culture: I hear you’re pretty good at runnin’… But pretty soon you’ll slip and fall. That’s when I’ll drag you home with me, girl… I’m gonna chain you to the wall.
A little less morbid but just as jealous is Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush”. At your next trivia night, you can wow everyone by sharing that this country song was written by Taylor Swift.
Back to the killing spree Sabrina started… here’s Beck sarcastically saying that if the woman thinks he’s such a loser, why don’t you kill me?
You can’t have a list like this without Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie.” I can’t remember any other love song being so well-accepted with a line about tying someone to a bed then setting the house on fire. Ahh, love is sweet isn’t it?
I have no shame admitting I love the percussion in this song. Like, I really love it. The drums are highlighted with a striking electric guitar riff peppered in through out. Great song, even if it’s quite bitter towards an ex. Here’s The All-American Rejects, “Gives You Hell.”
There are plenty of other songs that could make this list. Which ones would you add? Comment below!
