The Retro Activewear Commercial from Old Navy – Old Actors, Old Music, New Style!

Old Navy reached way back for parts of their latest commercial. Namely, the music and an actress/musician from the days of yore. Check out the ad then scroll down for the details…

First up is Lindsay Lohan. Not exactly old but she’s been a household name for a long time, since her debut in The Parent Trap (1998). Going back to the prior decade, the song in the ad is called “Whip It” from Devo in 1980.

And then there’s Charro. She does it all from musician to singer to actress to being a mom and wife. If you didn’t catch her in the ad, she’s the one riding the stationary bike in one clip and saying “Olé!” in a clip towards the end.

A nice retro style ad from a brand not known for their exercise apparel. Watch out Lululemon! Old Navy’s coming for your female audience. And maybe some guys, too. And yes, Lululemon has guys clothing. It still surprises me, too. Olé!
