Land of the free…. nothing but bald eagle photos (not perched in trees)

Yesterday I posted perched bald eagle photos. Today… the same two eagles flying, and one landing on the beach. Scroll down to take a look at these beautiful birds, then at the bottom of this post, my FAVORITE photo I’ve ever taken with the Sony A6600 and how you can be part of the eagle action. Check it out below!

Today’s special surprise is an amazing moment I happened to be in the right place for…. this bald eagle hunting the seashore below. The backstory is this… I was standing on the shoreline during low tide and this eagle was flying overhead. He’s usually perched in the trees nearby so for him to come out into the open meant he was serious about eating some fish! As he flew around, I was snapping away just happy to be watching him and getting some pictures. It wasn’t till later that day I saw this image and it took my breath away with the wings spread and feathers showing so well. It’s a moment I will remember for a long time, and by some sort of divine intervention, I can see this photo to remember the moment, too.

I hope the image strikes you like it did me. Eagles are cool.

Car graveyard in north Florida

There’s this random little place between Tallahassee and the gulf coast of Florida where you can pull off the two-lane road to see relics from the 20th century. It’s one thing to pass by and say, “Hmm that’s interesting,” and a whole other thing to stop and look at these vehicles from a bygone era. If you’re ever traveling south down 319, be on the lookout for a dirt road a bit south of Crawfordville where you can look at the car graveyard. Here is some background, and here are recent pics when I stopped to take a look.

March Justiceness

Have we taken the SJW mindset too far? Even in college basketball’s March Madness, there are multiple teams with “Equality” sewn onto the backs of the players’ jerseys. A basketball team has 5 players on the court per the rules of the game. How long till someone is offended that there are 3 of one race, and only 2 of the other… then boycotts the game until there are an equal number? Then rules change to field teams of 6 on the court, and there must be 3 white players and 3 black players.

In the name of equality!

Where that leaves Asians or Native Americans is anyone’s guess. It’s a bit absurd to take all this social justice as far as some have taken it. With that said, I’m in full support of equal treatment of people of any and all races, genders, etc. It’s not like I disagree with the messages, but all of it just comes across as acts of guilt rather than a celebration.

Shall we not celebrate the diversity in our country, in the world? As legendary 90s band DCTalk once sang, “There is joy in diversity!” I don’t sense joy when uniforms have social messages on them like “Equality” or “Black Lives Matter” or “Freedom”. It is more divisive than it is unifying.

What do y’all think of this type of thing happening in sports like the NFL, NBA, and college basketball? Comment below and let’s chat!

Fumbled iPhone ad’s music, location, and more!

This iPhone ad caught my attention within a few seconds of hearing the song. Check it out…

The song is called “The Conference” by a guy named Nitin Sawhney. The full track is below.

Nitin is a composer, producer, and musician. Click here for more bio details.

All of Apple’s commercials are produced by TBWA\Media Arts Lab.

Location. I haven’t quite narrowed it down yet, but I’m pretty confident this wasn’t shot in the US. We don’t have a lot of the things shown in the pictures below. Old Vespas, traffic circle signs designed like this, tall skinny vans.

UPDATE! This is Meagher Street (click link for Google street view) in Chippendale, NS Wales, Australia. Thanks to Nirk who commented below, with the location. Looks like a lovely town.

My best guess for the name of the person she’s talking to on the phone is Jackelyn Perra.
