I’ve been watching Hardy Boys (Hulu)

I wrote a post recently sharing my new TV addictionsBig Sky and Hardy Boys. I figured it’s time for an update. I’m still watching both, but one feels like it’s only out of obligation. Big Sky is great. Love it. Can’t wait to see where it goes. Hardy Boys? Not so much. I’ll finish out the first season just because I am invested enough to want to know how the story wraps up but outside of that, I’m not interested in furthering my relationship with the show.

I think I had to come to the realization that when I was falling asleep during each episode, it meant that that’s the best review I could give. The formula is working in that they have a few different story lines going on and by the end, they’ll all tie together to wrap the season up in a nice, neat bow (one would think). But I find myself laughing when I shouldn’t, and that’s never a good thing. I mean, if you are watching… do you also wonder how the tall man magically shows up at all the locations where the main characters are? How is he getting to all these places at just the right time when every time we see him he’s lumbering around as slow as a sloth?

Also, I don’t want to be a Negative Nancy, but something about the younger son, Joe Hardy, is more annoying than a room full of magnets that are pointed the wrong way so they can’t attach to each other. No what I mean? His personality is a little bit arrogant and a lot of a know-it-all. Annoying.

To sum up, I don’t presume to believe I’m the target audience, so maybe kids will like the show? As a grown man, my suggestion is to skip this show for something better. Something like… Big Sky! That show has got me hooked, so much that I’m almost to the point of rearranging my schedule to be home when it airs on Tuesday nights. But having Hulu is a perk, I can watch it there the day after it is on TV.

Are you watching either of these? What do you think about them?
