What has been cancel cultured so far… and what about Lou Reed, and Snow White?

Who knew 2021 would include the culture cancelling of so many things already? People and products are being cancelled at breakneck speed. Here are a few from 2021 already… (links take you to other posts I’ve written about each one)

Marjorie Taylor Greene – U.S. Representative

Gina Carano – actress

Morgan Wallen – country singer

Chris Harrison – Bachelor series host

Dr. Seuss – author

Speedy Gonzalez – cartoon character

Pepe´ Le Pew – cartoon character

Now I’m wondering how songs like “Walk on the Wild Side” have skirted by without cancellation? Look up the lyrics, Lou Reed calls women of color “colored girls.”

How about Cinderella’s portrayal of stepsisters being really ugly? Or Snow White have little dwarfs work for her? It’s all so offensive! I won’t be updating the list of what or who’s been cancelled because that will keep me too busy every day. Who do you think will be next?

Since 2005, I've called Nashville home. I'm the leader of the pack, which includes an 13-year-old beagle and an 11-year-old blue heeler mix. My days include writing, video editing, and other fun activities. Thanks for checking out my blog, I hope you enjoy it!

  1. I had to Google why Walk on the Wild Side hasn’t been canceled and found your article. I completely agree. I disagree with cancel culture and book burning, but I wouldn’t mind if this song was sucked into a black hole. Not only are the lyrics and topics included distasteful, but the melody is annoying AF. My guess is the hippy SJWs have good memories of doing drugs and sleeping around, so they gave this nostalgic song a pass.
