Joe Biden, all kidding aside

Could it be true that Joe Biden has no idea what “all kidding aside” means? It’s a phrase he says often, along with “not a joke,” and I’d conservatively say that 97 times out of 100, he never uses either phrase at the right time. Just the other day he was callously trying to console the people in Hawaii who have suffered enormous loss because of wildfires. Biden, in an attempt to be compassionate, told the story about how he almost lost his Corvette when there was a fire in the kitchen of his Delaware home. Insensitive? Yes. Bad timing? Yes. Does anyone in Hawaii care about how he almost lost an antique car when they’ve lost everything? No. But then Joe Biden transitions from his little anecdote about the small house fire by saying, “All kidding aside…” So we’re left wondering which part of his house fire/Corvette story was a joke? It didn’t sound like a joke. Nothing about it was funny. When was he kidding at any point of that story, or any other “true story” about his childhood that qualifies a statement like “All kidding aside,” which is often interchangeable with “Not a joke!” which he uses often, too?

Unless he’s talking about his entire joke of a presidency.
