Tom MacDonald and Goats and Country Music?

Tom MacDonald has another new music video (and new tattoos?) featuring goats galore. I know that’s not the point of the video but, then again, maybe it is? Check it out then scroll down for more…

Wherever this farm is, I want to be there. Goats are the best (well, second best… possums are my #1, just saying). There’s a common thread in the video, watching the kid (baby goat) follow the older goat around. I’m not intuitive enough to explain what this means but maybe it’s a visualization about the man in the sky. He’s the big goat and humans here on earth are the young goat following him for protection, to learn, for companionship.

Would you call this a country song? Tom is known for his rap music but he’s got quite a few ballads (if we can call them that?), too. Using an acoustic guitar certainly adds an element of authenticity if one were to call this a country song. And, if we’re being totally honest, this song is more country than a lot of country music.

The overarching theme, as in a lot of TM music, is to resist. Don’t believe everything you hear on TV or social media. People are crazy. Mainstream news has an agenda. Stick to the foundation this country was built on, which coincidentally includes the Man in the Sky.

Since 2005, I've called Nashville home. I'm the leader of the pack, which includes a 13-year-old beagle and an 11-year-old blue heeler mix. My days include writing, video editing, and other fun activities. Thanks for checking out my blog, I hope you enjoy it!
