There’s so much about this commercial that needs to be discussed but before we get into it, take a look at the barking Bulldog ad from Allstate…
The Actor. The actor earning “Best in Show” is Dustin Ingram. You might recognize him from a few other projects he was part of, including another insurance ad from a few years ago. Here he is in Liberty Mutual’s ad with an Afghan Hound.
Beautiful dog, huh? A breed that also stars in this Farmer’s Dog commercial. But let’s get back to the bulldog. A couple of things I love about the Allstate commercial.
1) I bet the way Dustin (the employee) pounds the desk as he barks was unscripted. His enthusiasm is hilarious.
2) Towards the tail end (pun intended) of the commercial, why does he look up at the ceiling? I love it because it adds more awkwardness to an already awkward situation. I’m guessing the director told Dustin to adlib and trusted his ability as a comedian. It worked!
3) Can we all agree the lady boss ISN’T a Georgia fan? She must’ve been gifted the mug and kept it for some other reason than being a real dawg. Because if she was, she would’ve barked back!

well hopefully this “age” ends in about five minutes and we treat people as people and don’t disparage one group because it makes someone “feel good.” That’s no better than the 50s when other groups were the butt of the joke. Women rule? You mean like Kamala? God help us.

This commercial makes me uncomfortable watching it because it is so effective. Although I am not in the board room and I know this is a commercial, I can feel the discomfort as the actor persists in “connecting” with through “Dawg Culture”.

yes, thank you for pointing #3… as a real Georgia fan, her dismissive “yeah” followed by ignoring him and launching into the meeting is NOT appropriate behavior by any real UGA fan. The proper response is at minimum and smile and “GO DAWGS!” in response. Also encouraged are Sic ‘em, How ‘bout ‘em, Them dawgs is hell, or just straight up barking.

exactly! any real fan of a school knows you don’t leave a comrade hanging like that. Maybe after the meeting she pulled him aside and they talked football. She had to keep a professional appearance in the meeting? But deep down she was barking.

Why is every single idiot/antagonist in the Allstate ads to “check first and save” a white male? Allstate needs to stop disparaging one group in society and stop the virtue signaling.
