TurboTax Karaoke Animation Commercial – The Song and More

TurboTax has a series of ads offering their services to: 1. Do our taxes and 2. Get our mind off of taxes. One of their latest has a jingle that could probably chart on Spotify’s top 10 if they made a full song. Take a look then scroll down for more thoughts…

I’m not saying it’s on the level of the Daisy Cottage Cheese or the new Dommmino’s jingles, but as the kids say, doesn’t this song slap? Do the kids say that? The song is a level up. It’s not mid. It’s a boomer? OK, I need an interpreter for anyone talking to me who’s under 30 but from the comments on YouTube, this song is 🔥.

Blazing hot en fuego. Like hot Nashville chicken.

Nevermind that the commercial has a suspiciously high view count with only a handful of comments, the ad is fun and does an OK job of helping me almost forget that taxes totally suck balls. However, I won’t be singing this song anytime soon because it’s still just a reminder that taxes are real and they’re due soon.

The Microsoft Copilot Football Commercial Fumbles The Message

How can you tell it’s still football season? Referees are blowing calls that determine the outcome of games, of course. And yes, that was a not-so-subtle jab at the refs for botching the call against the Buffalo Bills in overtime. Another way we know it’s football season is that there are tons of commercials with football as the focus and for every good ad, there’s a bad one. I’ll let you decide what this one is from Microsoft Copilot.

The coaches forgot to ask one important question: Which guy is going to be poison in the locker room and on the field? That would have helped them avoid the player who TACKLED HIS COACH!! So because of that disaster, I give this ad 3 out of 5 helmet stickers. Everything was going fine until the football recruit went berserk. There isn’t a head coach on God’s green earth that wants a player like that.

What do you think of the ad? Let’s bicker about it in the comments.

Bad Actor Guy is Back in New Liberty Mutual Dating Commercial

Bad Actor Guy is back in his starring role as the spokesman for Liberty Bibberty and this time he meets his match. No it’s not Doug or Limu Emu. IT’S MARSHA! I mean… it’s Marsha. Watch the ad then scroll down for more…

Both are big fans of the bundle, I bet they met on Bumble. Not because of any other reason than they thought the app was called Bundle. The male actor is Tanner Novlan, who you might recogize from the TV show “The Bold and the Beautiful.” And speaking of bold and beautiful… check out bold, beautiful hats in my Etsy shop where my sister and I are designing and selling trucker caps and patch hats. Pick one up before your next Bumble date. 🙂

The Dunkin’ Donuts Little Boxes Commercial – The Song and More

I don’t know if I’ve heard the same song used in two different commercials so close together in a matter of a few months before. Dunkin’ Donuts has a new ad that uses a song also heard in this Volkswagen commercial (April 2025). Take a look at Dunkin’s version then scroll down for more…

The Song. You might recognize the song from that Volkswagen commercial. It’s “Little Boxes” by Malvina Reynolds.

Which version of the song/commercial do you enjoy more? I like the simplicity of the Dunkin’ ad but I give the win to Volkswagen. The cover version of the song dropping in halfway through along with the young student bucking normalcy set a tone that I really enjoyed, whereas the Dunkin’ ad didn’t have me feeling much beyond enjoying the modern cover of the old song.

Should You Wear This Hat in Nashville?

When I was 26 years old, I moved from Tallahassee, Florida to Nashville, Tennessee and had no idea how much I’d love my time there… all 16 years of it. From a newby in the music/tv industry to an associate producer, video editor, homeowner, and so many other accomplishments and experiences I cherish. I won’t even get into the fun I had at the dog parks, playing sand volleyball, basketball at a Catholic church, lake swimming, downtown nights, driving (or crashing) in the snow, and on and on it goes. This is not the post where I list everything I loved about living there but it IS the post where I talk about a brand new hat showing off the city people love. This is our latest and greatest patch hat and it’s available in our Etsy shop. Here’s Nashville in pink…

If you look closely at the last letter… the E… you’ll see it’s a little different. Tilt it sideways to find a specific design meant to make this hat design one of one. The E is in the shape of the Nashville area code… 615. But wait, there’s more! Can you identify what the 1 is?

If you guessed the famous “Batman building,” you’d be correct! A well-known marker of the Nashville skyline is this tall building with two spires, now the AT&T building but was the Bell South building when I moved there in ’05.

I love those little details of this Nashville hat. I have a lot of pride about my time there, what the city means to me and so many others. I’d be so honored if you snoop around our shop, Wild Hat Designs, and take a chance on this hat. I really think you’ll love it!
