Garmin, in the nick of time

I posted a few weeks ago about how I was really wanting the Garmin Forerunner 245 and now that I’ve had it for a few weeks I can look back and see how well the timing worked out. I pulled the trigger on a refurbished watch because the Vivoactive watch I had used for years was acting funky. That watch actually came back to life for a little while, but then it just died completely. It had about 50% power one day and then it just shut off, never to power on again.

PIctured is my new Forerunner and easily my favorite feature is the addition of Spotify playlists. If I’m going to reach my goal of running 250 miles and walking 250 miles in 2020 I need a GPS watch… and having music come directly from the watch is so, so nice. I don’t have to carry around a phone on my runs/walks. Seriously, it’s a big deal. Lugging a phone on a run is not only a nuisance, but I found that my phone case was getting sweat inside which might have very well played a huge role in why I had to get a new phone.

But conspiracies aside, I love the new watch with all its nice functions. And Garmin is awesome enough that they’re sending me another Vivoactive at a discounted price, as a one time courtesy. So very courteous of them! 🙂

Do you use a smart watch to track your runs/walks/workouts? If so, which one and have you been pleased with it?
