Where I pick up from the most – notes from an Uber Eats driver in Nashville, Tennessee

As an Uber Eats driver mostly driving in south Nashville, I have put together a list of restaurants that seem to be popular with customers. This list is generally about where I pick up from, not necessarily anywhere I’ve visited as a customer, although as a vegan, half the list is possible. Most of the restaurants on this list are in south Nashville but also include a few in and around downtown. Also note that fast food restaurants like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, etc will not be on this list.

Taj Indian Restaurant – This restaurant is on Nolensville Road and I’m convinced it’s the best Indian restaurant in Nashville. The staff is great (and the few times I’ve dined here as a customer were A+). Sometimes I’ll deliver all the way to downtown, or even east Nashville, and in my opinion if someone is ordering from 10+ miles away, that is a solid compliment to the food.

Eastern Peak – Asian cuisine with three locations in the Nashville area, one on Thompson Lane, another in the Gulch (12th Avenue area), and in Bellevue. I get offers to pick up here quite often.

Bar-B-Cutie – There are two locations that I pick up from regularly in south Nashville… one on Nolensville Road and another on Harding Pike, near Sam’s Club. There are a few others around middle Tennessee serving up BBQ and the fixings.

Hattie B’s – Barbecue with two locations (there are more, but two that I go to regularly), one on 8th Ave and another downtown on 19th Avenue between Broadway and West End.

Subculture – American fare in south Nashville, near the intersection of Nolensville Road and Old Hickory Boulevard. Another common pick-up location with great staff. Limited space for seating is the only hiccup you might encounter if you want to dine-in.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream – There are a few of these spread around town, the one that always seems to have a long line is on 21st Ave… so try one of the other ones to avoid the wait. But it’s a compliment to the ice cream that people are willing to wait for it.

Sushi 88 – Japanese restaurant on Belcourt Avenue. My experience picking up food is about 60% good, and 40% of the time I have to wait a while, which is disappointing, especially when the staff doesn’t exactly inform me what is going on. Food must be good, though.

Hai Woon Dai – Korean restaurant near the intersection of Antioch Pike and Haywood Lane in south Nashville. I get a lot of offers from this restaurant and in my experience, the customers are usually Asian. This is a good sign that the food is authentic and delicious.

Kouzina Cafe – A popular Greek restaurant on Nolensville Road. Great staff and consistent orders from this place. Plenty of seating and if you get a chance, it’s worth checking out.

  1. Hai Woon Dai is so delicious! I have ordered delivery from most of these places, but am ashamed to say I have only been physically to one of them.
