I guess I go through these waves of things I enjoy. For instance, the time when I rode my friend’s bike and then I absolutely had to get a bike. Click the link to see the ultra cool bike I bought, and still have, and I ride it almost daily. I love that bike and it’s been about 2 years since I first laid eyes on it.
Only recently has this new idea swept over me kind of like wanting a bike did years ago. It started a few weeks ago when my niece got roller blades for Christmas. I thought they were cool, and soon she and I were rolling around the neighborhood, her wearing her roller blades and me pushing a small pink scooter. And it’s funny because one day we rode past a neighbor. He’s got a big white mustache, scraggly but long white hair he puts in a pony tail. He drives a van with no windows. I assume he’s an old Vietnam vet. Imagine what he thinks when he sees this grown man rolling by on a girls Razr scooter. Of course, his opinion may not change if he sees that same grown man roll by on a pair of roller skates.
I promise I’m not gay. Don’t go casting me in a TurboTax commercial.
But I really, really want a pair of skates. I even narrowed it down to the brand and style. There’s a set called Chaya Mocha and I MUST HAVE THEM. The thing is, I can only find them on backorder for my size. I’m trying to be patient and I’ll write up another blog if I can get my hands on them.
They look great, don’t they? Actually Chaya has another color in the same style but I gave up on that pair a few days ago. They’re white with blue and red stripes, but I don’t think anyone has them in my size and from what I can tell they stopped making that color combo.
Who knew finding men’s skates would be so difficult? But I’m determined.
See you all tomorrow…
