Have you been tempted by the release of Samsung’s Galaxy Flip 6? I have a Flip 4 and if I was closer to paying it off, the 6 would definitely be a contender for the next phone I get. Although, I’ll admit the large outer screen kind of defeats the purpose of one of the phone’s original intentions: when the phone is closed, you can focus on what’s right in front of you, no distractions. The Flip 6 (and the 5) has a pretty big screen even when the phone is folded, sooooooo…..
There’s a new commercial featuring the translating abilities of the phone. Take a look then scroll down for more info…
The Music. Savvy ATCQ fans pointed out that the song in the ad is not the original. I’m sure the band got their royalties, though, so that’s good. Here’s the original version of “Can I Kick It” by A Tribe Called Quest.
Which phone do you have? What is one thing you like about it and one thing you don’t like?

¿Que? No kudos to Lou Reed? I love the video except for the expression on the dad’s face at the end — you’d think he would be delighted his son has “met some people” — or, are we to interpret his “closing” of his phone and his gaze out the window as his realization that he needs to take his own advice and also “meet some people” ? What I love best about my phone is the cool sound it makes as the rotary makes its way around the dial — especially when I engage the number “0”. 🙂

Lou Reed wrote “Walk on the Wild Side” in 1972. That’s the song that “Can I Kick It?” is sampling. Lou Reed “was inspired by Nelson Algren’s 1956 novel, A Walk on the Wild Side. With this inspiration, Reed infused the lyrics with real-life characters he had encountered at Andy Warhol’s New York studio, The Factory.”
