Apple HomePod Mini commercial music – winter 2020

Apple is throwing their hat into the home audio ring with the introduction of the HomePod Mini. This will NOT be a review of that product for the entirely valid reason that I don’t have one. But! What I CAN do is shed light on their latest ad and I hope that excites you. I don’t know? What excites you? Here’s the extended version of the ad.

The ad features music from Tierra Whack. The first part of the commercial is backed by her song “Feel Good.” The mood of the ad picks up and then the audience is treated to another song of Tierra’s, this one called “Peppers and Onions.” Both songs are below. How do you feel about the ad? Does it make you want to buy an Apple HomePod Mini?

Econ River Wilderness Area – Oviedo, Florida

While I was in Florida for the Thanksgiving holiday, my nieces and I hiked around in the Econ River Wilderness area. We had so much fun checking out the wildlife, singing, dancing, and avoiding snakes. I was very surprised how quickly into the hike we lost the sound of civilization, though this park is so close to Orlando, Florida. It was quiet, with just the noises of nature instead of cars. Very nice! Here are a few pictures from the hike…

The wokest commercials this winter – 2020

Inspired by an ad playing on TV and radio here in Tennessee, I put together a list of the most woke wokest woke commercials this winter. First, here’s the inspiration…

Next, here are five commercials that have little to do with the product they’re selling. This happens a lot in advertising, but these ads take it to the wokest level!

  1. Ritz Crackers. Nothing says “snack time” like a man with lipstick on. Yum!

2. Instagram. More men with lipstick. Wahoo!

3. Proctor & Gamble. Highlights a son, or….. daughter? I still don’t know. Yip yip!

4. It’s a bird, it’s a plane, nope, it’s Uber to the rescue. High ho!

5. OREO. Nothing says dip a cookie in a glass of milk like a rainbow fence. Sploosh!

East Beach, Driftwood Beach – dog friendly beaches in Georgia

Part of my road trip to Orlando, Florida included a stop at East Beach on St. Simons Island just east of Brunswick, Georgia. The plan was to check in to the (dog-friendly) Red Roof Inn then spend the afternoon at the beach. Surprisingly, that’s exactly what we did! Here are photos from that day. Also, we had just enough time to catch a sunset at Driftwood Beach. This is on Jekyll Island. I didn’t know exactly what to expect because this little addition was unplanned, but wow what a beach! It’s not for sunbathing or surfing. It’s more about marveling and photographing. Two points I feel like need to be said… 1. do NOT climb in the bushes at Driftwood Beach. I stepped a few in before we left and immediately found 5 or 6 ticks on my legs. 2. It cost $8 per car to enter Jekyll Island. Not much, but good to know beforehand.
