HelloOoOo and thanks for reading my blog today. I post every day at 1pm central about all kinds of things from dating to TV commercials. Today’s is about a movie trailer that’s been airing the last few weeks. Black Adam stars the one-and-only Dwayne Johnson. Here’s the trailer…
I’ll admit they trailer is well-done and the movie might be great. It’s a DC Comics character and those seem to do well (Batman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, etc). There are two things that bother me about the movie, though, just from viewing the trailer.
- Dwayne Johnson. Don’t get me wrong, I love him but I just can’t see him as a superhero/comic-type character. Fast and Furious, yes! The Game Plan, definitely! Jumanji, for sure! But in Black Adam, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see him as the character and not Dwayne Johnson.
- The neckline. The neckline of his superhero outfit is hideous. All I can think of every time I see it is the Hanes commercial where that guy has a flimsy, stretched out neckline on his shirt. I know Dwayne Johnson has a muscular neck and all, but there had to be another way!
With that said, time will tell if these two drawbacks will be mine alone or if fans will notice the same things and ticket sales will reflect it. My guess is that it will do fine in the theater and I’m just being weird, as usual. But as for the trailer itself, it’s well-done. Doesn’t seem to give anything away and that’s always the biggest complaint from fans… trailers sometimes show the entire movie in 2 minutes.
