Nationwide Commercial featuring HER (and him)

Nationwide has a couple of new commercials out featuring the wonderful voice of Gabriella Wilson, better known as H.E.R. Take a look and I think you’ll love her voice, too.

There’s also a “behind the scenes” video from one of her performances.

H.E.R. joins another musician lending their talents to Nationwide. Country singer Brad Paisley has a couple of ads under his belt, too. Here’s one of them.

Star power aside, having a memorable song, or jingle, is important from an advertising perspective so Nationwide checks off all the boxes with him (Brad Paisley) and her (H.E.R.). How do you feel about the commercials? Do you catch yourself singing the tagline at random parts of the day? Oh, ok, it’s just me!?

Danny DeVito comes up short in new Jersey Mike’s commercials

Danny DeVito is the star power in a series of Jersey Mike’s commercials. You’ve probably seen a few of them but in case you haven’t, here’s my least favorite.

Why is he stealing a sub from another customer? A rich, well-known actor can afford a sub, right? It’s just weird. Maybe I just don’t get his humor, but I haven’t laughed at any of the DeVito commercials yet. There are a couple more of the ads below, all aiming at a laugh from the viewer. This isn’t the first time Jersey Mike’s has produced a commercial that misses the mark for me. Last year they had one titled, “Resume,” in which a turkey was proud to be sliced up for a sandwich. I wrote more about it in my review here, but in a nutshell it would be a cold day in Hades before a wild animal would be happy to die and get eaten.

Below are more commercials starring DeVito. If you’re interested in why Jersey Mike’s brought on DeVito as their celebrity endorsement, check out this article where it’s all explained.

Am I missing something? Are these ads funny and I just need to lighten up? Chime in below! Thanks for dropping in…

Ram Trucks “The Leaves Are Changing” Commercial

I really like the Dodge Ram commercial where the woman is leaning out the window and notices the leaves are changing. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look…

They give a good assortment of Ram owners/drivers and each example made me laugh. I’ll say this, too… most truck commercials are all about the data; how much can it tow? What’s the engine size? This Ram commercial (and the ones below) is a shift and focuses on the type of person who buys a Ram truck.

She’s not wrong… the leaves ARE changing. Does that make any of us want to buy a truck? I guess the data will answer that once sales reports are revealed. At the most basic level, trucks are made for transportation so I’ll leave you with my favorite and best transportation photos. All of these are available for download or purchase so look around the full gallery and enjoy!

Vietnam Adoption 16 years later!

Sixteen years have flown by since I went with my sister and brother in law to document the adoption of their daughter. She was just a few months old when we first met her and since then, we’ve enjoyed so much watching and being part of her growing up. Here’s one of the first videos way back before everything went to high definition.

Here she is after just learning to walk, still in low-def…

Then we did an update 11 years later…

So, naturally we’ve updated the video and now here she is 16 years later. What an amazing journey so far and we’re all excited about the many decades to come!
