More about Melii’s “Slow For Me” music video

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I’m betting you’re interested in what’s going on with Melii, a singer/rapper/entertainer who’s becoming more popular in music world. You might want to know more about her music video for “Slow For Me.” Well, you’ve come to the right place! Here’s what I’ve uncovered. Feel free to chime in below if you have info to share!

The details…

The song was co-written by Melii (who’s real name is Audrey Grinell Ducasse), Michel Sotolongo, and a dude named Devvon Terrell.

Another fun connection between Devvon Terrell and Melii is his video for “Temperature” back in 2017. Melii stars as the love interest. Check it out here.

The song and video feature Daystar Peterson, a Canadian singer/rapper more well-known as Tory Lanez. As far as relationships go, I can’t find anything that says the pair are romantically linked in any other way besides being on the same record label, Interscope Records. How romantic [insert heart eyes emoji]

The video for “Slow For Me” was shot in Cafe La Trova, a nightclub/restaurant in Miami, Florida. Here are side by side pics from the video and the restaurant website.

Jon Pardi “Heartache Medication” behind the video details

Jon Pardi recently added a music video to a song his fans already love, and it’s getting quite the positive feedback on YouTube. Lots of Dwight Yoakam vibes being felt, George Strait comparisons, comments about Jon saving country, “real country” and on and on. But what you might not know about the video itself is the identity of the woman Jon’s sweet on, and the bottles of whiskey he’s sweet on, too 🙂

Well, those diehard fans already know who she is, but I’ll tell ya anyway, it’s his girlfriend Summer Duncan.

You’ll also see a well-framed close up shot of Louisville-based Michter’s Whiskey. I haven’t found any direct connection between the brand and Jon Pardi.

What else is interesting about this video? Well, some comments on YouTube mention Jon’s height… so according to
this site, in the past Jon’s said he stands at 6′ 3.5″ tall. Must be nice up there.

He reportedly has a net worth of $8 million. Must be nice up there.

The video shoot location is Nashville, specifically The Nashville Palace and nearby.

The video was directed by Carlos Ruiz, who’s directed a number of Jon’s videos, like “Heartache on the Dance Floor”, and Mr. Ruiz does photography, too.

Who’s the dude in Ingrid Andress “More Hearts Than Mine” music video… and more info!

Rising over 1.8 million views on YouTube, obviously Ingrid has found something that might just “make America cry again.” The music video premiered on April 24th so by now you’ve had plenty of time to watch it. But here’s another chance…

You can find plenty of info about the story behind the song, just check out this and this… but what about the video? Who’s the ex-boyfriend? What kind of car is she driving? Where was it filmed? Well, here’s what I found out!

The Dude…
Screen Shot 2019-07-27 at 11.39.28 AM

The guy playing her love interest former love interest is actually a singer/songwriter himself. His name is Davis Mallory. He’s got a ton of stuff online so go check him out when you get a second. One interesting thing is he’s counted among the alumni of MTV’s Real World. From what I could find, I believe Davis is gay, so I kind of chuckled because Ingrid’s video is about breaking up with a boyfriend, who’s played by a gay guy. Perhaps this is why they break up in the story? So many layers to peel back!

The Ride…
There’s really not much to go on at all, but based on the headrest in the beginning of the video, I’ll bet this is a Volvo from the late 80s or early 90s.

If you know anything about cars or Volvos specifically, do share!

Location, location, location…
The video was filmed in Springfield, Tennessee, a town with a population around 17,000. It’s about 30 miles north of Nashville, roughly 2,100 miles east of Los Angeles. It’s home of one of Tennessee’s best 18-hole golf courses, but you won’t find me swinging clubs there.

I am a terrible golfer. Thanks for checking out my post, have a great day! If you’re bored, I posted my research on Lauren Daigle’s video for “Rescue.” Go there and be bored no more.

Is Lauren Daigle dead? No– it’s just her new music video

My sister sent me a link to Lauren Daigle’s new music video for “Rescue” and I’m so glad she did. Thanks, Edin. I’ve loved the song for a long while now, ever since I created my own little lyric video for the track.

In Lauren’s official video, which is pretty much as good as mine 😉 she is performing her song in Heaven. As I watched, I thought, “Oh Lord, Lauren’s done gone up to glory to shoot this video. Look at the backdrops, all that’s missing are streets of gold. Didn’t get the permit, I guess.”

“Dear Lord, take care of our sister Lauren, she came up there to do a thing with her song and a video and the crew and the crafts service and send her back when you can. Amen.”

Wait, wait… Lauren’s supposed to be in a city near my this coming fall? But… but… how can she be down here if she’s up there? Huh, that WASN’T Heaven? Well, then where on God’s green earth are these stunning, and I mean, STUNNING, locations?

I’ve been to a handful of amazing places in my lifetime (like here and here… and that yummy Indian Restaurant on Nolensville Pike) and I’ve seen beautiful things, but as I watched this video, this is the first time I can ever remember actually becoming short of breath from what I was seeing. This is NOT the first time I’ve been short of breath this year, though, thanks again to the meal AND leftovers from that delicious Indian Restaurant on Nolensville Pike. Cascading snow-covered mountains, streams through snow landscapes, rocky almost lava-like ground that goes on for days. Words truly can’t do the video justice, so why am I even trying?

But if you’re like me, you have questions. Mainly, where is this place in the video?

Here’s what I dug up.

According to an article on People’s website, the video was filmed on Knik Glacier in Alaska. And I thought Tennessee was God’s country! Dang you, Alaska, you beautiful rascal.

The video was directed by John Gray, who you might recognize from other stuff he’s done. Right? I’m sure he’s done other stuff.

Ok, back to Alaska… this Knik Glacier is one we can enjoy too, it’s not just for the famous people. A group called Knik Glacier Tours will… well, they’ll take you and your son on a tour of the glacier. Not just your son, anyone you bring, really. And yes, I provided a link to their tour page but I’m not getting any kind of commission unless they happen to see this post and feel like Venmo’ing me some funds 🙂 @BenWilder615

PS. that Venmo thing goes for you too, delightful Indian Restaurant on Nolensville Pike. 🙂

You can also see lots of wildlife there at the glacier. Bears, wolverines, sheep, goats. But the goats can’t be as adorable as these.

Later folks,

Making lyric videos

In the past few years, I’ve really taken a liking to putting together lyric videos using music by popular artists. One of the first was for NeedtoBreathe’s “Multiplied” which I’ll post at the bottom. But I’m so happy with how my latest project went. Equipment used: GoPro Hero3, Roxant handheld stabilizer, DJI Mavic Air, edited on Final Cut Pro X.

Here’s my take on Lauren Daigle’s “Rescue”…

and NeedtoBreathe, “Multiplied”…

The actress in Brett Young’s “Mercy” video

I’m pretty late to the game on this one because Brett’s video was released in March 2018. But! In case you didn’t know, the woman starring alongside Brett in “Mercy” is a seasoned actress named Tiffany Brouwer.

You make recognize her from TV shows like “How I Met Your Mother,” or movies like The Help, but to list all the movies and TV shows she’s acted in would make up a long list. So instead, just check her on IMDB. You can also take a look at her reel here. If you feel like keeping up with her on social media, click the following links 🙂

Sugarland’s “Babe” video: Stars, cars, and… a jaguar?

Everyone knows by now that Taylor Swift had a heavy hand in the direction of Sugarland‘s new “Babe” video… she co-wrote the song (along with Train’s Pat Monahan), sings background, and plays a role in the video. But there’s more to it! Check out some fun stuff below.

The cheating husband is Brandon Routh.

The first classic car in the video is either a ’63 or ’64 Lincoln Continental. I had a hard time narrowing it down with nothing to go on, really. Until I noticed the door handles. Take a close look and you’ll see the rear passenger door handle is right next to the front passenger door handle. Odd, right? Those were called suicide doors back then, and then I was able to find the Lincoln. The ’63 model seems a bit longer on the back end, so I’m leaning towards ’64 with this one.

The next car, driven by Jennifer Nettles as she meets her hubby at work, well, thanks to a comment below, it’s identified as a 1966 Ford Galaxie. It’s beautiful!

Screen Shot 2018-06-11 at 9.10.46 AM

Screen Shot 2018-06-11 at 9.10.06 AM

Words from the second letter in Jennifer’s hand are lyrics of Roxy Music “My Only Love”.

Screen Shot 2018-06-11 at 9.01.14 AM

The house is the same one used as the set of Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart” video, which premiered in March of 2013.

And is that a jaguar pin? Maybe a puma?
