The Burger King commercials are so irritating

Is it just me or are you completely over the Burger King “You Rule” commercials? The singing grates on my ears every time an ad comes on. I race to hit the mute button. Here’s an example and I’m sorry in advance…

It’s unfortunate the updated songs are not very pleasant. I wrote it about it here, basically reminding us that the jingle isn’t new. The original is from the 70s and I love those versions. The first time I’d heard one from decades ago was when I was researching that post I wrote a few months ago.

Aren’t those women much more pleasant to listen to? Voices that sound great make the melody likable. Not irritating like the current ads. Come on, Burger King!

Etsy Happiness Commercial – The Fun Song Connected to Elvis Presley

A new Etsy commercial uses a song from the early 1960s and it has a connection to Elvis Presley. But it’s not Elvis singing in the commercial. That would be too easy! Take a look at the ad then scroll down for more info…

The song is called (you probably guessed it already!) “Happiness Is” by Paul Evans. I love the playfulness in the lyrics of the full track.

As I researched the song, I found out Paul Evans wrote more than just this song (go figure!). Paul is a writer on two beautiful Elvis tracks, one of which has become a recent favorite of mine. Check out these songs written by Paul Evans and performed by Elvis Presley.

“Something Blue”…

“The Next Step Is Love”…

Quite a resume even if you have just one song recorded by Elvis! Kudos to Etsy for finding a clever song by an accomplished singer and songwriter. Do you like the Etsy commercial? Chime in below with your thoughts…

What’s the song in the new YETI commercial?

YETI doesn’t really need ads but for some reason they have one out now. It’s an outdoorsy number featuring a song I just had to find! Check out the ad then scroll down for more info…

The Music. Backing the ad is a song called “Catch A Glimpse” by Aaron Ross & Farrow and the Peach Leaves. Here’s the full track.

Taylor Swift Fatigue Will Be Happening Soon

It’s almost laughable how many cutaways to Taylor Swift go on during a Kansas City Chiefs game. Last night the Chiefs played in MetLife Stadium versus the New York Jets, Taylor Swift in attendance. Even for an away game, the cameras cut to Tay-Tay if KC scored, if they didn’t score, if there was a KC turnover, if someone sneezed, basically everyone’s wondering what Taylor thinks about every. single. play. Except I bet half the audience doesn’t really care what she thinks, or if she even knows what’s going. OK, it’s endearing when a woman isn’t a little clueless. Let’s just be honest!

With the wall-to-wall coverage and every other shot cutting to her, I can sense Taylor Swift fatigue is on the horizon. OK, it’s not just her… so we can call it Swift-Kelce fatigue. The unfortunate part for her (and him) is that she doesn’t control how many times media show her during the game, what news channels or sports programs say about her, or how many blog writers write about her. The only blame she and Kelce can take is for going along with this farce to begin with.

How soon do you think football fans will be weary of news about Taylor and Travis Kelce? Has it already happened? I’m sure NFL staff is monitoring the situation so they know when to dump the story. Then Kelce and Swift can go back to their normal lives, you know since the stunt will be old news. The jig is up… back to work, folks!

SKYRIZI has a new slogan? This commercial says yes!

We’ve all by now heard one of the SKYRIZI commercials featuring their “Nothing is everything…” slogan. Full disclosure, it’s a theme song I find myself singing random times throughout the week. Darn you, SKYRIZI! For a reminder of their catchy jingle, check out this post from a previous commercial. Now, though, they seem to have come up with a variation of the song… check it out in a recent ad. (the link might open in a new page)

The song keeps elements of the original jingle but adds a new phrase, “Control is everything to me.” I’m not sure how I feel about this change. I like the original song and if they go changing it, I might boycott!! All kidding aside, the update to the song might be because SKYRIZI is used for Crohn’s Disease… a prescription not previously mentioned in commercials. As I recall, older ads focused on skin ailments and hadn’t mentioned Crohn’s Disease.
