The Dog in Chris Lane’s “What Am I Supposed To Tell The Dog” Music Video – And More!

“We stayed together for the kids!” Some relationships remain in tact for the sake of other people. But what happens to the dog when a couple splits? It’s this question, and the dog himself, that’s the theme of Chris Lane’s new music video unmysteriously titled, “What Am I Supposed To Tell The Dog”… and it’s as country as country gets, isn’t it? Reminiscent of other canine-centered country songs like Blake Shelton’s “Ol’ Red,” “Feed Jake,” (Pirates of the Mississippi), Carrie Underwood’s “The More Boys I Meet,” and many more, Chris Lane has an old-fashioned hit on his paws. Plus, the video has fans wagging their tales because of Logan (@TriStar_Tollers), the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever who, quite frankly, steals the show. Plus, he’s already met Dolly Parton? You lucky dog!

What are you supposed to tell your dog? That’s easy. Tell him he’s a good boy, that’s what! Check out Logan and Chris Lane in the video then scroll down for more…

The Song. Doesn’t it remind you of classic country music, like songs from the 90s and early 2000s? The song was written by a pack of dog lovers (they must be, right!?): Chris Lane, Jameson Rodgers, Lydia Vaughn, and Seth Mosley. This modern throwback to traditional country composition is so refreshing. Maybe the pendulum is finally swinging away from whatever 2010s country was (bro-country, boyfriend country, trap country, etc) and back to breakups, dogs… actual storytelling.

Here are a few behind the scenes clips featuring Logan the dog.

I went on a UB40 Binge

I recently posted about how I’d unsubscribed to almost all of the services I’d been paying for, except for Spotify. Honestly, I don’t really miss SiriusXM although scanning through radio stations isn’t as fun as it was many years ago. So… much… talking. I’ll admit that I miss Hulu. Probably shouldn’t have given that one up. Trying to find a movie to watch for free on YouTube and Roku is like trying to find your car in a mall parking lot. I could’ve sworn I parked near JCPenney. Or was it Dillard’s?

A couple of days ago I played “Can’t Help Falling in Love”– the UB40 version– and now I’m 💯 on a UB40 binge. Every time I’m in the car, it’s UB40. I already knew they had songs I liked but geez, there are so many more that I haven’t ever heard and I love them. If you get in the car with me anytime soon, get ready for some reggae, mon!

Something else I never knew… UB40’s big hit “Red, Red Wine” has a man of iconic fame as the writer and original performer. All this time I thought it was their original song. Nope. Can you guess who did this song first?

If you guessed Tony Danza, you’d be right… Just kidding, you’re SO far off! What’s wrong with you? OK, the real answer is Neil Diamond. You know, the “Sweet Caroline” guy. Yeah, I was shocked, too.

Had I kept SiriusXM I might not have ever down this UB40 playlist rabbit hole and wouldn’t have this nugget of Neil Diamond info that will surely help me win a trivia night sometime in the future. 🤞

Puppet and Tennis Star Appear in New Shoe Commercial

On, or is it QC, brought together two superstars for their latest commercial helping consumers sort out the confusion in their logo. Check out the ad then scroll down for more…

I’ll admit that when I first saw this I thought to myself, “But why?” The pair we never saw coming joined together for a collaboration about a shoe brand. I still don’t totally understand it but I guess that’s art for you. As one executive I used to listen to in mostly useless meetings would say, they’re throwing spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks.

Their logo is pleasant to look at, I’ll give them that. And as far as I know, there isn’t any real controversy, apart from the O looking like a Q. It’s not like their design is off (I’m looking at you KIA with your unparallel lines).

Can anyone explain what Elmo has to do with sports, running shoes, or Roger Federer? Mr. Federer has been a spokesman (and a very small part of the ownership) for the brand since 2019 so his appearance in the ad makes a whole bunch of sense. Maybe On is trying to strike up another viral controversy. It’s O-N… no, it’s Q-C!

Is the dress blue and black or white and gold? I still don’t know. But the letters in this brand are definitely Q and C.

An Incredible Experience at Blue Spring State Park, Florida

Moving up the boardwalk towards the St. Johns River. Crystal clear water to my right and a large crowd gathered up ahead. One of the best surprises of 2025 was happening right before my eyes!

30 MINUTES EARLIER………

I slide my feet into my running shoes, planning on a 4+ mile run through Blue Spring State Park. This was my first full day at the campground and running in new locations is an adventure I enjoy. Plus, I had already been through 19 stages of grief thinking that the hundreds of manatees seen at the spring in weeks prior (because of Florida’s cold spell) had since returned to the river now that the weather had warmed up a lot. At least if this trip was going to be a bust, I’d get a run workout in. I start out down the park road towards a big parking lot. Weaving through the parking lot and over to the boardwalk. There were people there and I didn’t want to look like Phoebe Buffay so I slowed down to an inconspicuous walk. Maybe I’ll see a manatee or two, then finish my run around the park. But then… everything changed…

So what do you do when your run is interrupted by a big crowd gathered around a SeaWorld box truck? You quit running and enjoy the moment! I maneuvered to a spot where I could see what was happening and lo and behold, they were releasing 4 manatees back into the wild. Geez, the one time I don’t have a camera with me! But a kind volunteer named Laura took pics and sent them to me, because if there aren’t pictures, did it really happen? What an amazing experience… thank you for the pics Laura! 🙂 The multi-year rescue/rehab/research was conducted by SeaWorld and ZooTampa at Lowry Park.

Pretty incredible and a trip that could have been a dud was anything but. I don’t even care that I missed the hundreds of manatees from weeks before, seeing this unique thing was something I’ll remember for a long time. Here are a few more pictures during my stay at the campground, including two of the new manatees with their trackers in tow and a couple of alligators for good measure. Have you seen manatees lately? Chime in with your experiences below.

Was Blue Spring State Park a Dud for Manatee Viewing?

It wasn’t that long ago that Blue Spring State Park had hundreds of manatees swimming out of the river and up to the spring. It was when Florida had record cold (and snow!?). Immediately, I tried booking a campsite to coincide with my trip to Orlando for a Super Bowl weekend. Blue Spring SP is about an hour north of Orlando so it would be a perfect caboose to my weekend trip. Was I able to find a site, though? If you’ve ever tried to camp in a Florida State Park, you probably run into the same problems I have… availability! But the good news is I reserved a site for 3 days/2 nights, hoping to see these so-called manatees! I arrived on Monday, just two days ago. The weather is warm (not like the snow I mentioned before). Monday came and went, Tuesday is history. Today I’m packing up to head to north Florida but the question remains… did I see lots and lots of manatees!? I’ll post more details tomorrow (I have yet to pack up my camper so I don’t have much time to write at the moment) but I’ll leave you with this teaser: I saw a lot of wildlife. Some in the water. Some out of the water.

What I saw remains to be revealed so come on back tomorrow for a more in-depth review of the campsite experience!
