Amazon Prime Mustache Ad – The Music, the Actress, and More!

*UPDATE: If you’re curious about the jacket or the boots, click on this post for that info!*

Hi there! My name is Ben and I post every day at 1pm central. I wouldn’t say I’m the king of blog posts but today’s post features royalty. It’s a song by Queen (get it!?) in the latest Amazon Prime commercial. Check it out then scroll down for more info…

The Music. I hadn’t heard this song before but if you’re a Queen fan, you’re certainly appreciating the deep cut from Queen’s 1982 album “Hot Space.” The song is called “Cool Cat”…

The Mustaches. Amazon woman has a hairy upper lip, hot or not? The star of the ad is the mustached woman, obviously. But there are a few supporting characters giving her a boost of confidence. Other mustached stars are Eddie Murphy, Frida Kahlo, and of course Freddie Mercury. Not shown in the ad is a star behind the camera, directing was actress Olivia Wilde (no mustache).

The Actress. Playing part of the mustached woman is actress Morgan Quinn. You can find out a lot more about her by following her Instagram @MorganJeanQuinn. Spoiler alert, she doesn’t have a mustache in real life. 😉

Amazon has been featuring women in a lot of their recent ads. For more info, check out my posts on their Medusa Commercial, Robinhood Commercial, and the Little Red Riding Hood Commercial.

See you tomorrow!

  1. Some people should never speak, or think before they do. It is normal for some women to have facial hair but because to many people live in a fantasy world, they don’t think so. I was told when I was young, if you don’t know what you’re talking about, you should keep your mouth closed. She’s beautiful.

  2. Let’s get back to adverting the products and not the people who are in it. What happened when people took pride in their appearance, instead of their messed up psychological whims that they try to force on us? Push your agendas on me and I push back with taking my business elsewhere!
I could give a crap less what your preferences are! Just don’t push them on me or subject me to them and we can all get along just fine.
There are only 2 genders, male and female. When you can prove biologically different, then I may listen to your nonsense! In the meantime, keep it to yourself!

      1. What are you talking about? This commercial is not about gender!! This girl is celebrating her upper lip!

    1. Honey that ship has sailed. We’re so far into gender norms of every kind that you don’t even know when trans people are around you. I 100% know that you run into, encounter, and/or are in the presence of trans people every day and you have NO IDEA. Plus it’s not new! That toothpaste isn’t going back in the tube. You might want to adjust.

      1. I know damn well if I’m in the presence of a transgender, I can tell you that 100 %. There is only 2 genders and THAT ” toothpaste ” isn’t going back into tube. It would be nice if people didn’t try to normalize this.

    2. You need to open your heart to the differences between people. You must be a Republican because you are so narrow minded. Maybe a relative of Aldof Hitler.

  3. So angry that people don’t understand what this commercial is saying. The are too brainwashed with transphobic messages. This as nothing at all to do with transgender and if you believe that you are an idiot.

  4. It’s so funny. These weird-o activists are promoting what they call “acceptance” and yet the supermodel director is the persona of “fake” beauty. Why don’t Olivia stop wearing skin tight outfits and grow a stash herself?? I’ll tell you why it’s f@@@ing gross.

  5. I literally almost threw my guts up. And I love the rating system here. It pretty much forces you to vote high. I went give it zero stars. Going to click the stars it says thank you. It highlights at 3 stars. All of this insanity needs to stop like the “woman swimmer”. Not only is that wrong but it posts a picture of its male genitalia in jar online.

  6. So many angles of this commercial just to make you go hmmmm….

Maybe the general conception is acceptance and be who you are. Hence queen reference. He was who he was without having the need to label it. Society likes labels. So whether she is trans, horrified by puberty, and fighting the high school bullies. Good for her for doing something to make herself feel good. Something we need more of as a society. Not more hate, judgement, and gun violence.

  7. After the third or fourth viewing, i turned off my logical reasoning and just let my experiential self loose. The gender of the person is not an issue. It is a young human being who experiences a bump in the road of life, figures out what would bring happiness, and solves the problem (with the help of Amazon Prime). One of the greatest videos I have ever experienced. Using the Queen song is not just icing on the cake, but central to the story telling. Kudos to Amazon Prime management for running this video which should be nominated for an Oscar.

  10. The actress is a dead ringer for the late Erin Moran who played Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days.
Not the wikipedia picture from 76, more her 78-80 look.
People who feel compelled to hate online are very unhappy with their own lives, decisions, choices.

    1. Wrong. It’s about a girl who is dealing with unwanted hair bit decides not to deal with it at all. Nice try nothing to do with transgender. Commercial was directed by Olivia Wilde.

  12. I had a mustache just like that plus really bad teeth as a pre-teen.
    I am a biological woman.

I spent my early teen years going through the humiliation and pain of facial hair electrolysis, an old-school wire brace for several years that tore up the inside of my mouth, and then, later in life, dental veneers when the braces failed to help.

After the electrolysis and torture to my teeth, in my twenties I had a dentist tell me that he thought I was one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen.

The pre-teen in me wants to cry every time I see this ad.
The stupid shit we do in the name of beauty.
This girl in the ad is beautiful, even if her mustache isn’t real – mine looked just like that.
I wish this ad had been around when I was a kid.

  14. This commercial gives me a smile every time I see it. It includes everyone that was ever an outcast in their awkward stages and didn’t really know how to fix it. I love it so much. Don’t hate on girls on young girls having hair on their faces, its always genetics. My sister-in-law who is absolutely beautiful said she had a full-on mustache and unibrow until she was old enough to get rid of it.

    1. I’m sick of the shortened version. Full-length is a masterpiece.
I am so captured. I had a hard time determining her gender, although the tranny angle did not occur to me it is a beautiful add-on.
I’ve always loved Olivia, I don’t know how much she added to the results but she is now a Goddess. Such a striking piece of work. Long live striking work!

      2. Why don’t Olivia grow a mustache herself and sport it? Since she telling girls it’s ok to do it yet she is the perfect example of what these weird activists call fake “beauty”and promote “acceptance.”

  18. I actually thought that the commercial was portraying a transgender young person and that we need to be accepting of whom he or she really is no matter what gender they identify with. And that through music and fashion that they are just as cool as any other kid.

Buys a freddie mercury inspired jacket, decorates her room with hype posters of her idols and jams to cool cat by Queen. Geniously ties in several of the many ways primr can make your life easier while cracking me up at thr same time!

I didn’t notice the mustache till today what I noticed was she was sad until she got the Freddie Mercury’s jacket then she felt good and came out of her shell. She is very pretty I can’t believe I didn’t notice the mustache for at least 2 weeks or more.
