The woman in Jon Pardi’s “Ain’t Always the Cowboy”… and more!

Jon Pardi’s music video for “Ain’t Always the Cowboy” compliments the song very well, which is very important. There’s nothing worse than a music video that ruins the song for the listener/viewer. Of course, fans would expect nothing less from the country singer who seems to hit a homerun with every song and video.

Getting right to the details of this video, the woman featured here is Jessica Holmberg. If you thought she looked comfortable on the horse, it’s because she’s very comfortable on a horse. Jessica is a barrel racer in Texas.

Jessica may be from Texas, but the video was shot a few states over… Tucson, Arizona.

Jessica’s character has a love interest who is played by model Brian Patrick Harris. Finding info on him is proving to be difficult but so far I’ve discovered him with a very different look on a professional make-up website here.

Now this next piece of info cannot be confirmed so it’s just my opinion, but it looks like the part of “boyfriend” in this video is played by Brian Patrick Harris (as mentioned above) and… drum roll please… Jessica’s husband, singer/songwriter Jarrod Morris. Check out the man in the bed and compare him to the man at the end (Brian). They look similar… very similar. Thoughts? Maybe it’s just the lighting and how similar the two guys look in real life that’s throwing me off.

If this is the case, that Jessica’s husband plays the part of “bed boyfriend,” I’d guess it was Jessica’s decision to not be in bed (even in an acting scene) with a man who isn’t her husband. As I said, none of this is confirmed, just a hunch!

The video was directed by Carlos Ruiz, who has directed most of Jon Pardi’s music videos, and done a great job with each. He’s definitely got an eye for the visuals that fit the idea of Jon Pardi’s music very well. See Heartache Medication and Heartache on the Dance Floor.

The Dodge Ram has a “Mayse” license plate which appears to represent Mayse Automotive Group out of Aurora, Missouri.

Maddie and Tae “Die From A Broken Heart” fun facts about the music video

Maddie and Tae’s new video for “Die From A Broken Heart” features Tae playing the part of the the brokenhearted while Maddy narrates the story by way of the song’s lyrics.

Where in the world?
The setting of this video shoot looks very familiar, since I live in Tennessee… but without knowing for sure, it could be any number of places in this state or the southeast. I’d bet a milking goat it’s not Hawaii, so at least we can eliminate that as a possible location.

Who’s that guy?

Screen Shot 2019-08-11 at 2.10.24 PM

You may recognize the guy playing the boyfriend/ex-boyfriend from movies like Bumblebee and Truth or Dare, or his successful character Zig on the DeGrassi TV series. His name is Ricardo Hoyos.

Turn on the radio…
If you look closely, the couple are jamming to Ava Max “Sweet But Psycho” while they’re riding around in the Jeep. The Maddie, Tae, and Ava Max are close in age, Ava Max born in 1994 and both Maddie and Tae born in 1995. Tae and Ava Max are both 5’3″, while Maddie is just an inch shorter at 5’2″.

The video was directed by Carlos Ruiz who’s done a lot of work with another popular country artist… Jon Pardi. I have a couple of posts about his music videos below.

Jon Pardi “Heartache Medication” behind the video details

[also check out more info from Jon’s most recent video for “Ain’t Always the Cowboy”]

Jon Pardi recently added a music video to a song his fans already love, and it’s getting quite the positive feedback on YouTube. Lots of Dwight Yoakam vibes being felt, George Strait comparisons, comments about Jon saving country, “real country” and on and on. But what you might not know about the video itself is the identity of the woman Jon’s sweet on, and the bottles of whiskey he’s sweet on, too 🙂

Well, those diehard fans already know who she is, but I’ll tell ya anyway, it’s his girlfriend Summer Duncan.

You’ll also see a well-framed close up shot of Louisville-based Michter’s Whiskey. I haven’t found any direct connection between the brand and Jon Pardi.

What else is interesting about this video? Well, some comments on YouTube mention Jon’s height… so according to
this site, in the past Jon’s said he stands at 6′ 3.5″ tall. Must be nice up there.

He reportedly has a net worth of $8 million. Must be nice up there.

The video shoot location is Nashville, specifically The Nashville Palace and nearby.

fun facts about Jon Pardi’s “Heartache on the Dance Floor” video

[also check out more info from Jon’s most recent video for “Ain’t Always the Cowboy”]

Jon Pardi has a popular video to go along with his huge hit song, “Heartache on the Dance Floor.” Here are some fun facts about the video.

First up, the female lead is Tasha Franken. More on her can be found here and on her Instagram @tashly_f

It was directed by Carlos Ruiz, who’s also worked with country artists Keith Urban, Eric Church, and Luke Bryan. He’s also a photographer.

The car Jon drives around is a 1970(-72?) Pontiac LeMans, possibly a GTO but some folks say it’s not.

The video was shot in California in the following locations:

You’ll see Jon driving the Pontiac mostly on Lincoln Boulevard in Marina Del Rey, California. Background locations include Penguin’s Frozen Yogurt (4023 Lincoln Blvd,
Marina Del Rey, CA 90292), MDR Bike Company, Brennan’s Pub (iconic location in Marina Del Rey and they race turtles here, evidently), in the parking lot beside the pub and next to a smog check station (see pictures), and a building at 100 Market Street. Here’s a gallery of those locations.

Of course, lots of shots in the video are on the beach. You’ll see Jon and the band on the Venice Beach boardwalk, walking near shops like Tuti Fruiti Discount Pipe Shop, and others as shown in the following photos. Notice the Tuti Fruiti sign on the Yelp page is the same one seen in the video below.

And when Jon is not driving on Lincoln Blvd., he’s driving on the Pacific Coast Highway, which runs north/south along the beach coast, and I believe the clips were taken north of Venice Beach where the terrain is more rugged and not as residential or commercial.

Thanks for checking out my post about this popular song and video!
