Everything was coming up roses until it was discovered she had not one cat, not two cats, but three whole cats! Can you even imagine? OK, OK, to be clear, I have nothing against cats or the people that love them. In fact, my neighbor has a cat and I kind of like her a lot.
But…
After I pet her I must wash my hands. Yep, I’m allergic. It takes about an hour and then my eyes water and itch and I’ll start sneezing. It’s not my favorite trait about myself.
In fact…
Right at this very meowment, I’m suffering from seasonal allergies (thanks a lot tree pollen!). This woman I almost dated, I enjoyed getting to know her. But as trivial as it may seem, cats are a deal breaker. I don’t think there’s any pill strong enough to make me try a cat-owner dating relationship. And no woman can kiss good enough, either, for that matter!
Meow, before I go any further…
I HAVE dated women with cats. It just doesn’t last long… ever. The situation was flipped once. I dated a woman who was allergic to dogs. I have two dogs. It was doomed from the beginning, wasn’t it? Have you ever willingly started a relationship like that? I’m not sure why I said “willingly” because “unwillingly” would be a whole other thing… or a plot line of “Big Sky” on ABC.

No allergies here and luckily have never dated smokers but I feel like that might be a deal breaker for me…

I lean towards that being a deal breaker also! Maybe in the beginning no big deal, but smoke breaks, clothes that smell like smoke, coughing, not to mention the health hazards. Probably not a match for non-smokers, for the most part.
