Road Rage… Again

Road rage is something most of us have encountered, whether we are the angry ones or someone else. It’s something I’ve thought a lot about since I had a gun pulled on me just about a mile from my house. That was a frightening moment that could’ve changed my life forever, or even ended my life. I say “could’ve changed my life,” as if it hasn’t but the truth is, my life HAS been changed from that encounter. The driver pointing the gun at me didn’t shoot. I’m so grateful for that. Sometimes I wonder if he actually did pull the trigger but the gun malfunctioned. Wouldn’t that be crazy?

Since then I’ve vowed to ratchet down how confrontational I am on the road. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my moments but each time I’m able to act with a level head, I am relieved because it’s impossible to know if the next person I rub the wrong way might act on their own rage. Here in Nashville there’s an ongoing case of a nurse who was killed on her way to work. Allegedly she cut off another driver and that driver shot her. Game over. Just like that her future is gone. No more nurse. No more daughter and sister and friend.

The funny, and alarming, thing is that even though I’ve changed and I’m telling you about it today, just this morning not more than 10 minutes after I mentally recommitted to my best road behavior, the car in front of me didn’t go when the light was green. I politely tapped the horn. Still no movement so I laid on the horn. It was as if the rooster had crowed 3 times because I immediately remembered how I had just decided my road rage days were behind me.

That’s how easy it can bubble back up.

So in your own story, give yourself some grace. I surely have to do the same. But the main point is to let things go. There is nothing happening on the road worth losing a life over. Be safe out there, folks!

In Fraud We Trust

I recently read in the Bible from 1 Peter where it says, “Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the Emperor.” When I read this I felt a bit convicted about the way I have been thinking of Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States. In America, he is our President (Emperor). So this post, while it comes with a bit of grief, I want to make sure it’s not tearing Biden down. That would go against this verse in the Bible so I really don’t want to do that. However, obviously I’m still posting this today so I wan to make clear that the puns In Fraud We Trust, Hail to the Cheat, or Commander-In-Cheat is more of a jab at the way the entire election process went down, not Biden specifically.

In fact, I wonder how much he even knows of the sinister plans concocted by politicians in this country. I believe the election included voter fraud. Cheating. Anything to get the person they wanted into the White House. I certainly didn’t vote for Biden. In my mind, this particular election will go down as the one Democrats cheated to win. So referencing this sentiment is what the post is about.

Plus, I like puns.

possible slogan for the Dems re-election campaign for 2024?

Earth, another sign of Intelligent Design?

Can anyone name something that doesn’t break down and fail after a few months, or years? How about the earth? Let’s say it’s 3,000 years old (or as some believe, millions of years). In that time, it’s hosted how many humans and animals, billions and billions, and yet it is still functioning as it was thousands of years ago (or millions). How can than be unless it was created by a… actually, no I’ll stop there… how can that be unless it was CREATED? I believe if it were just a random explosion that brought everything together, it still wouldn’t last. But God created this amazing earth in such a way that it is self-sustaining, and at the same time, it’s able to withstand the use and abuse of being inhabited for ______________ (however long you believe it’s been inhabited).

The earth is amazing. God is more amazing.

This is not an attack on anyone’s beliefs. In fact, if you believe the earth is millions of years old, that’s even MORE of a reason to thank God for making it so durable. What else could last this long, if not something created with the divine mind of an all-knowing, wise God?

Let’s have a conversation. I know there is a lot of science out there and I’m no scientist. What are your thoughts about this? Comment below, I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

Tom Hanks to Play Gay Republican Stuck at White House in ‘Terminal 2’

Washington, D.C. — In Terminal (2004), Tom Hanks starred as Viktor Navorski, an international traveller stuck in the JFK Airport terminal after arriving from his politically unstable, war-torn country of Krakozhia. Unforeseen circumstances cause Viktor to be detained at the airport for 9 months, which is short if you’ve ever tried to fly American Airlines.

Now Tom Hanks is back in Terminal 2 (2021). He plays the part of Jimmy Tibbs, a gay Republican on a guided tour of the White House when the newly elected President, a Democrat, declares war on his opponents, those backward-thinking Republicans. The political instability in the United States causes the President to rethink letting Jimmy Tibbs cut his tour short. Although he loathes the idea of a racist, sexist, white supremacist Republican remaining in the White House, forcing him out would appear homophobic. He decides to hold Jimmy in the green room until the political unrest dies down. Meanwhile, Jimmy befriends members of the White House staff, offering chic fashion tips and talking up the benefits of capitalism.

Tom Hanks said of his role, “Normally I wouldn’t be caught dead playing the part of a Republican, but he’s gay so I can’t say no.” The film is being directed by Steven Spielberg (director of Terminal) and has a release date of summer 2021. Posters have been popping up nationwide with the tagline:

“The President’s home-oh!”

Biden Replaces White House Physician With Dr. Seuss

Washington, D.C. — A few days into his last term as President, Joe Biden has released the White House physician who’s served under both Obama and Trump. To make things official this morning, the newly elected President set up a virtual press conference where he announced who will take over this important position.

“Laughter is the best medicine, right,” Joe quipped, “so today I’m promoting one of my favorite experts in the medical field, Dr. Seuss.” His announcement was met with a roar of applause, many members of the press repeatedly pressing the ‘like’ button and openly weeping with joy.

Greg Thornberg of ABC News aptly said, “When we were sick as children, wasn’t it Dr. Seuss we all turned to?” This sentiment is being echoed by Democrat voters all over the nation who aren’t yet ready to admit they’ve made a colossal mistake. Others have pointed out there is a kindred spirit between the two: they’re both prone to making up words– one for children’s books, the other for debates and speeches.

Republicans, as a party, haven’t released an official statement, reportedly waiting to make sure they’re not part of a stunt from the TV show “What Would You Do?” hosted by John Quiñones.

Meanwhile, pictures have emerged of giddy Democrats in Congress huddled in circles quizzing each other on the 25th Amendment.
