Samsung Galaxy da Vinci Commercial – the Actor and the Music!

Samsung is pushing the new Galaxy Z Fold4 hard with a series of commercials. One of the latest features Leonardo da Vinci working on a piece of art. Take a look…

The Music. If you haven’t already heard of Queen, you’re in for a real treat. The decades-old band has many, many hits appearing in movies, TV shows, commercials and however else music can be included. One of my favorite song of theirs is “Save Me” which appeared in an episode of the TV Show “New Girl.” But the song in this commercial is “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

The Actor. Playing the part of da Vinci is an actor named Jamie Morgan. He is actor with a lengthy theater resume, but perhaps he’s making a move into TV/film acting where he will create his own art for viewers to enjoy. A modern-day da Vinci, perhaps? Check out his website JamieMorgan.co ….and his acting reel below.

Camping in Big Lagoon State Park, near Pensacola, Florida

Camping in Big Lagoon State Park has been mostly a treat! It’s my first camping trip since visiting Fort Clinch State Park over by Jacksonville, Florida. Want to know how that trip went!? Well, I won’t spoil it by telling you it didn’t live up to my expectations– oh wait, I just spoiled it– well, for a recap click here. As for Big Lagoon, it’s important to know that it’s NOT a beachside park. Water is accessible in the park, but you aren’t going to be building any sandcastles. Half the park is closed for rebuilding/renovations but I still had a good time. One big highlight was watching all the different types of planes and jets flying overhead. More details about all that plus pictures, here. As for wildlife, I didn’t see much but still managed to snap some photos of eagles, a heron, pelicans, and other things. Check out the pics below for a few of my favorite memories from the park…

In the sky above Big Lagoon State Park

Hello and thanks for checking out my blog today. I’m camping in Big Lagoon State Park, just a bit southwest of Pensacola, Florida. Pensacola is home of Naval Air Station Pensacola so today’s post is more about that than it is about the state park. For previous camping adventures, visit my Camping Stories page. Many plans and jets have flown overhead. I caught a few on camera, and perhaps there’s an eagle or two thrown in there, a pelican, and the moon because, well, the moon is cool!

The SiriusXM Commercial – Dinner with the Stars

I’ve been a subscriber to SiriusXM for a few years now and while I have my handful of “go-to” channels, there is so much more than that. A wide range of music plus comedy and sports and politics and the list goes on. This is the message in SiriusXM’s latest ad featuring a few stars you might recognize from the entertainment industry. Here’s the ad…

The Stars. Gathering for a smorgasbord dinner is Alice Cooper, Alanis Morissette, Brad Paisley, Mickey Guyton, and 2 Chainz. You can get a quick bio of each star here. You might’ve also noticed a portrait of Kevin Hart and a coffee mug in the likeness of Conan O’Brien.

The Music. Playing softly in the background is the song “Feels Like Heaven” by Grace Weber.

I love the commercial. It’s a great melting pot of musicians from a wide range of music genres, plus it’s funny so that’s always a plus. On top of that, it delivers the information SiriusXM wants us to know in a clever, conversational way. Kudos to the creative team for putting this one together!

America’s Got Talent – How Much Money Does the Winner Actually Get?

I read the fine print on a recent episode of America’s Got Talent and part of it is about the money awarded to the winner.

As you can see, the winner will not be an instant millionaire. From what I could find (like on this site), the prize is awarded as an annuity in the form of $25,000 per year for 40 years or they can take a lump sum if they don’t want to spread out the payments, which would be in the high $600k range, closer to $700k.

Whatever the winner picks, they are a lot more rich than when they first auditioned.

Would you rather take the payment over the course of 40 years or deposit a hefty $700,000 into your bank as soon as possible? Regular income would be nice but having over half a million in the bank definitely offers a feeling of security.
