I’ve never felt like Moses more than I do at this very moment. He wandered in the wilderness for 40 years and I’ve been wandering in the dating wilderness for my entire life- 40 years!
Of course, the wanderings were and are for different reasons, and the promised land isn’t the same either… but I am so grateful the Lord opened my eyes to this comparison. It’s lighthearted, sure, but I do think of my journey to the dating “promised land”– marriage– paralleling the Israelites journey.
The thing is… their journey had a (mostly) happy ending as they finally made it to the land flowing with milk and honey. Will mine? I’d love to find a woman as wholesome as milk and sweet as honey 🙂
Yesterday I posted a playlist designed for your softball games, but below is a list compiled for volleyball, either sand or indoor. While the softball playlist is mostly hip hop, rap, and a few rock songs (music to get you psyched up for homerun hitting, outfield catching, pitcher striking out batters, even in slow pitch), this volleyball list is designed to be chill and mostly relaxed. There is still rap, don’t get me wrong, but it’s about conjuring up good feelings, happiness, and it’s meant to be a compliment to the fun atmosphere that volleyball should be. …and I’d do it again. Wait… wait… I will do it again! 2020 is right around the corner and as the political scene comes more into focus with a nominee for the Democrat party, I’m reminded of how weird it is to be a conservative in the U.S. nowadays.
In fact, I’ll throw this out there: it’s more acceptable to come out as gay than it is to come out as conservative. If you don’t believe me, think about the last time you heard of anyone who’s gay getting harassed or roasted or slammed in the media? Now think about the last time a conservative was harassed or roasted or slammed? Let’s see, how about last night on every single late night talk show?
It’s crazy that there are times in conversations I’ve had where I hesitated to say something about being conservative, voting for Trump, or supporting anything like right to life, guns, the border wall, etc.
Crazy times!
But while I would be considered a conservative by public opinion, I like to think of myself as a preservative. I want to preserve the country the way it was meant to be. Every single person has the God-given right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I see one side of the aisle trying to stick to this, and the other side trying to change it.
Maybe one day it won’t be such a social risk to admit we care about “conservative values,” but for now our most vocal citizens are pushing for the advancement of “progressive values”… which is a glaringly obvious oxymoron, anyway.

Fiesta, forever First off, if you think “Liar” has a couple of familiar melodies, you’re right! The song samples 2 hits, one from the 80s and one from the 90s– “All Night Long (All Night)” by Lionel Richie and “All That She Wants” by Ace of Base. Gosh, I love Lionel Richie!! And Ace of Base, too.
What’s really crazy is both of those songs were released (1983 and 1992) before Camila was even born (March 1997)… yeah, she’s that young! Lionel Richie is credited as a songwriter on “Liar” by Camila, along with the members of Ace of Base: Ulf Ekberg, Jonas Berggren, Linn Berggren and Jenny Berggren.
The beaux Her fiancé Reese Kensington is played by actor Zak Steiner. According to IMDB, he’s been on quite a few shows including Law & Order and Jessica Jones.
The bus beaux The bus boy / waiter is actor Keiynan Lonsdale is known for his roles on The Flash and Dance Academy.
Good directions The music video was directed by Dave Meyers who has also directed music videos for Normani, Ed Sheeran, Travis Scott, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift among others.
