Pet Peeves 2

A few more of my current pet peeves.

8. Olive Garden commercials.

9. Songs about songs (exceptions: Listen to the Music/Doobie Brothers, Party in the USA/Miley Cyrus). In the example below, Kid Rock is basically telling us not to listen to his song, but listen to “Sweet Home Alabama” or other rock and roll music.

10. The following buzzwords: bully, trending, and hun (as used in girl-to-girl conversations… “Hey, hun!” or “Thanks, hun!”)

Spongebob and Flats the bully

11. Furniture Warehouse commercials in Nashville, TN

12. Pens that don’t allow a smooth flow of ink. Being left-handed, I push the pen accross the page and need a smooth flow of ink.

13. Any statements that end with, “That is all.”

14. Unity candle in a wedding.
After the candle is lit, the audience has to wait three more minutes for the song to finish while staring awkwardly at the bride and groom who are whispering and giggling.

Since 2005, I've called Nashville home. I'm the leader of the pack, which includes a 13-year-old beagle and an 11-year-old blue heeler mix. My days include writing, video editing, and other fun activities. Thanks for checking out my blog, I hope you enjoy it!

  1. one day i’ll tell you about how the title ‘hun’ got my friend kicked out of English call and how the teacher never taught high school English again.

  2. I totally agree with number 14. It’s so awkward for the audience and really–why do I want them staring at me for so long anyway?!?

  3. You did not explain why you do not like Olive Garden commercials, but the reason I do not like them is that they say something about b”where you’re treated like family.” Well my family always let me get another helping if i wanted to (at no charge), or you would have to go through my mother’s glare that meant “should you REALLY be eating MORE?” (and the waiters PUSh desserts on you).

My “restaurant” commercial pet peeve is with Sonic. I HATE those people and their inane conversations! (But that may be a function of me being about 15 yrs older than you. Maybe there is a target audience that i am not a part of.)

    Love your blogs!
