My 3 favorite shows currently on broadcast TV

Last Man Standing – The only show where a conservative character pokes fun of liberals (instead of the other way around like every other sitcom, news, talk show), and it’s very clever, funny, and heartwarming. Tim Allen is great, and the cast is awesome, too. My only gripe would be the replacement of one of the characters in the last season or two. Tim Allen’s character Mike Baxter has a daughter named Mandy Baxter. She’s ditzy yet likable. She dated and married Kyle Anderson who is also flighty and likable. The actress who played Mandy for years was Molly Ephraim, but then was replaced by Molly McCook. McCook is a fine actress, but she doesn’t play the “dim-witted” character well. Anywho, check out this hilarious scene.

Hell’s Kitchen – Love this show, especially the current season (season 19). They are down to a 6 or 7 contestants and I have come to really like 2 or of them (Jordan and Mary Lou), more than I have in previous seasons. I know very little about cooking and preparing meals for large gatherings so that part is fascinating, and the harsh treatment from Gordon Ramsey is entertaining, but then he’ll have moments of tenderness which is refreshing.

Big Sky – This is definitely my top favorite. The plot is entertaining and has twists and turns that are hard to predict. The villains are evil, but have elements of humor, while the protagonists are strong and likable. The show debuted in late 2020 and the ratings were strong right off the bat before declining a bit. I hope the show continues but it’s up to me and people around the country to keep tuning in so it gets picked up for future seasons. Here is another post about the show I wrote a few months ago.

What has been cancel cultured so far… and what about Lou Reed, and Snow White?

Who knew 2021 would include the culture cancelling of so many things already? People and products are being cancelled at breakneck speed. Here are a few from 2021 already… (links take you to other posts I’ve written about each one)

Marjorie Taylor Greene – U.S. Representative

Gina Carano – actress

Morgan Wallen – country singer

Chris Harrison – Bachelor series host

Dr. Seuss – author

Speedy Gonzalez – cartoon character

Pepe´ Le Pew – cartoon character

Now I’m wondering how songs like “Walk on the Wild Side” have skirted by without cancellation? Look up the lyrics, Lou Reed calls women of color “colored girls.”

How about Cinderella’s portrayal of stepsisters being really ugly? Or Snow White have little dwarfs work for her? It’s all so offensive! I won’t be updating the list of what or who’s been cancelled because that will keep me too busy every day. Who do you think will be next?

Coronavirus protocol: “Do not enter” this bathroom…

When visiting family late last year we decided to dedicate one bathroom for use by just a few members of the family, and everyone else would use a different bathroom. This was our way of maintaining some sort of coronavirus cleanliness.

A sign was placed on the bathroom door to remind everyone that if you weren’t one of the chosen ones, use an upstairs bathroom. But why have one sign when you can have nine?! (click one to open up the gallery)

Thanks for stopping by, now go upstairs if you need to use the potty 🙂

Band names… what were they thinking?

Sometimes the band names are so bad, it’s hard to tell which is the band, the song title, or the album title. Example below.

Know what I mean? I saw the one pictured above at the gym and I refuse to look up more about this band/song/album. I refuse to give in to their attempt at a clever band name. If you had to guess which was the band, which would you pick? Honestly, either of the 3 could be the band, song, or album!

A quick glance at the iTunes “All Categories” chart, the artists making up the top 20 all have clear band/artist names and I think there is something relevant about that. Most fans don’t want to be confused on which is a band name or a song title, right?

Here is another REAL band name:

Are there bands that make you wonder how they came up with their band name, and more importantly why? Chime in below with your least favorite favorites.

Ironically, study finds blondes not offended by dumb blonde jokes

U.S. — Many thought in today’s cancel culture society that blonde jokes would be the next to go, but as of the day of this publication, blondes are not yet aware they should be offended. A study conducted by the University of Alabama in March showed that out of the 100 blondes registered to take part in the research, only 17 found the correct building and even less, 8, found the right room.

Researchers quizzed the blondes on various topics with questions like, how many of you use white out to correct something you’ve typed on the computer? If we drew a circle and told you to sit in the corner, where would you go? You need to dial 911. Where is the 11 button on your phone?

Data collected during the study will be used to help bring awareness to a growing problem in the country. Another study is scheduled for brunettes later this month, with speculation that being a “dumb blonde” is not limited to the color of a person’s hair. Adam Granger, an analyst involved in the research, says, “We’ve seen a fascinating decline in overall intelligence with the rise of things like the TikTok app, xx, and yy.” He also stated a specific study for redheads was not something they are willing to do because, in his words, “You do NOT want to piss off a redhead.”

One of the world’s most famous blondes has chimed in on the subject of dumb blonde jokes, so we will leave you with her thoughts.

I’m not offended by dumb blonde jokes because I know that I’m not dumb. I also know I’m not blonde.
