Original mazes (part 3)

This is the final set of mazes I’ll be posting for now, but this one contains my #1 favorite. I’ll let you guess which one it is 🙂

a blocky design where you end pretty much where you started

Happy Father’s Day to a great man!

This is just a short post to publicly acknowledge my dad as the best dad out there! Don’t get your panties in a bunch because you think your dad is or was better than mine because it’s simply not true! Don’t dwell on it, just take a deep breath and let it go.

In my childhood part of his career was serving as Captain of the Coast Guard Cutter Steadfast, as seen here:

My dad also loves coffee so on Father’s Day, this is the most fitting gift I can think of for the man that has a direct connection to “Steadfast” and coffee.

He’s a funny man, a Godly man, a sporty man, a Hallmark movie-watching man, a kind man, a hard workin’ man, a steadfast man… and so many other qualities that I’ve admired for many years. I can’t wait to know him more, even though I’ve already known him for 41 years…

Happy Father’s Day, Dad!

Things we sometimes just walk by… downtown Nashville

I’m clearly still obsessed with close-up shots so here are a few from downtown Nashville. I tried to find things we might not normally take photos of simply to notice the beauty in ordinary things… like plants beside a sidewalk, metal railing, or concrete barricades.

Original mazes (part 2)

These are few mazes that were started with good intentions, but somewhere along the way didn’t turn out exactly how I envisioned them. But in the end I still like how the first one looks…

first attempt at drawing “FSU”… the F is a little or a lot wonky

this was a scrap sheet where I drew a few practice sketches of a pelican. I figured, why not turn it into it’s own maze. There is redemption in imperfection… is the lesson here 🙂

Toothbrushes for 20 years

Have you ever thought about this…

You could buy 40 toothbrushes at $1 each and with that $40, you’d be set for 20 years.

20 YEARS!

Speaking of “essential items” like clothing, hygiene, etc, is there anything else on which you could spend so little and it last so long? This is blowing my mind right now. Cars, computers, food, shoes, shirts, watches, pens, pencils, masks, sunglasses, sunblock, the list goes on and on with things that wouldn’t even come close to the longevity of these 40 toothbrushes at such an affordable cost.

At the time of this post, I can only think of jeans coming anywhere close to this fascinating quality of toothbrushes. Actually, jeans are unique also because in theory you could buy 40 pairs and be quite prepared to wear them for 80 years (assuming each pair lasts 2 years). The downside is the cost… even at $20/pair, you’re looking at $800.

Jeans and toothbrushes. Who woulda thunk it.

If you can add to this list, comment below. I’ll be waiting because I’m just so down this rabbit hole of a topic it’s not even funny.
