Please Tell Me This Is Normal. #2

So I had a dream recently, and in it I was making a dance compilation video for “Call Me Maybe.” Hey, everyone’s doing it, so the dream wasn’t far from reality. The only thing I remember, though, is being in a room, behind the camera, recording the dance moves of Lil Wayne. Not totally embarrassing because he actually was a pretty good break-dancer.

If you’re so smart, can you tell me if this is normal also??

Please Tell Me This Is Normal.

Do you ever have random songs pop into your head? I’m not talking about the one you just heard on the radio, or even the one you heard last week. Like a few minutes ago, I started singing “Forever” as performed by Uncle Jesse on Full House. Sure it’s a touching song and all that, but what in the world!?

My Apologies to an American Idol Star, “I’m Sorry.”

I saw Danny Gokey (of American Idol fame) at the dog park the other day.
I told a friend of mine, “Piper is a bit testy but Asia has no enemies!”
Immediately after that Asia got into a squabble with a bigger dog. It was Danny Gokey’s.
How embarrassing.

The Problem with Being Yourself on a Date

Whether you’re a guy or girl, it’s normal to get nervous before a date. We’ve all been there. In fact, even the dates I didn’t put must stock in, I still found myself being nervous (see “This Was Not A Date” and “After The Final Tulip”). More often than any advice I get is the encouragement to “be yourself!” But isn’t that kind of the problem? Because myself is nervous! Might I suggest two other solutions for the nerves, neither are to “be yourself.” First, you can try acting. Pretend you’re a character in a movie but the character is the “normal you.” So on the one hand you’re nervous, but on the other, you’re playing the part of you when you’re not nervous. The second option is pretty much out of your hands, actually. The responsibility rests in the other person on the date (and if this ends up working, it’s a very good sign for the relationship). Like I said earlier, it’s normal to be nervous before a date, however if you find yourself so comfortable around them that you forget to be nervous, that’s an ideal environment to be in. Because then, and only then, will you realize that you truly can “be yourself!” How about you? Have you found any methods that help calm your nerves before a big date? We’re Almost On A First Name Basis

I woke up this morning to the realization that my dogs have lived with me for almost 3 years, and they don’t even know my name. Think about it: I say, “Piper, come here. Asia, sit. Piper, it’s time to eat. Asia, where’s Piper?” They know their names and each other’s name quite well, but they would be zero help if someone asked where “Ben” was. So if you hear me referring to myself in third-person, don’t worry. I’m just re-introducing myself to my dogs.
