Amy Klobuchar as Biden’s running mate?

It’s the night the for super Tuesday and I’m huddled by the heater watching Joe Biden do a rally in Dallas Texas. The event included various local politicians and a pastor. Oh, I almost forgot a woman approached the mic to perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and, not to be hurtful, but she would not have earned a spot in Hollywood on American Idol. It was rough.

It’s also important to note who ISN’T on stage. Pete Buttigieg, Beto O’Rourke… nowhere to be seen. But Amy Klobuchar IS there and she was the person who introduced Biden preceding his speech.

Biden then spent more than a few minutes praising Amy.

Half of me is just happy he didn’t forget her name. The other half is wondering if tonight’s Bachelor episode might have had less smoke to blow up our a$$. I wouldn’t know because #BachelorBoycott is still a thing.

So to sum up, Joe is at a rally speaking very loudly, Amy Klobuchar is dreaming of being his voice president, and somewhere Pete Buttigieg is still not the most popular Peter (Bachelor Nation is real, y’all).

Thanks for stopping by!

UPDATE: Beto is now on stage so now Second Pete* is the only one not speaking on stage.

The 411 on “Singles You Up” video by Jordan Davis

Jordan Davis seems to be on the precipice of making it big. Industry critics and country music fans predict a very successful year for him in 2018. So why not kick off the new year with a great video to go along with one of his popular songs, right? Check out the video for “Singles You Up” then scroll down for a few details you might be curious about!

The Cast

Jordan stars alongside a woman playing his love interest. She is Austin-based model Abbey George. If you see her, give her a big ol’ ‘whoooooop,’ as she’s an alum, or if I’m being proper by A&M standards, a former student at Texas A&M University.

Howdy. Gig ’em. And other Aggie terminology.

Abbey from JE Model Management‘s website.

The Locations

The video was shot in El Paso, Texas. Jordan and Abbey show up at Conchita’s Burritos, which, incidentally, is probably cooking up meals this very second for anyone who wants one at 6730 Alameda Avenue, El Paso, TX 79905. A 5-star Yelp rating means something, y’all, so swing by and grab a bite. There are other locations throughout the video, but this one has Mexican food, so I didn’t write about the others.

The car
It’s much like the one pictured here, so I believe it is, in fact, a 1968 Pontiac Firebird. [correction: as pointed out in the comments below, the bodyline on the car in the video is evidence this is a ’69, thanks for commenting!]

A big thanks to Eric Ryan Anderson for providing a Firebird-trunk load of info, much of which was used to put this post together. Best of luck to Eric, Jordan, Abbey, Conchita’s Burritos, and everyone who’s involved with Jordan’s music and videos! Affect of Hurricane Harvey on Google maps “traffic”

Take a glance at Houston, Texas on Google maps (with “traffic” selected) and you’ll see how much Hurricane Harvey is still affecting the area, 5 days after making landfall. The news this morning showed the storm over the Beaumont area, so I included a Google map of that town, also. The red-dashed lines are indicating road closures, which, when you see these images, is pretty wild to see how widespread it is. So many roads and highways are flooded.

The Bachelor: An Introduction to Brad Womack

Welcome back to another season of The Bachelor. This is the first time Out of the Wilderness will be covering this version of the show. You may recall some wild and hilarious (that’s called shameless self-promotion) posts about Ali Fedotowski on last season’s Bachelorette. She ended up choosing Roberto over Chris L. (recap here), though most searches directing viewers to this site were about Chris and his tattoo. Chris Lambton was slated to be the next Bachelor but he declined, so lo and behold, we have Brad Womack.

The Bachelor

This is Brad’s second time on the show, with the first being the season he surprised everyone by not choosing Jenni Croft or DeAnna Pappas. That was back in 2007. Now, in 2011, Brad lives in Austin, Texas and is sure he’s a changed man. His twin brother and their younger brother both are married and have families, so Brad is desperate excited to start a family of his own.

Out of the Wilderness will cover each episode as Brad narrows thirty desperate excited women down to one. Log on to the web either late Monday nights or early Tuesdays for a fresh, creative, clever and hilarious take on each new episode. Then check this site for my take.

Good luck to Brad and his once-twice-in-a-lifetime search for love!
