Woman attacked by bison at Texas State Park

The bison roaming around Caprock State Park are big. They’re also not interested in being less wild, and I love that about them. A woman recently learned the hard way that you don’t mess with them… meaning: don’t get too close, don’t tick them off, don’t get between them and their offspring, don’t take chances. Here’s the video.

“I didn’t want to go through the bushes again.”

Looks like she ended up in the bushes again. 😉 But seriously, when I visited this beautiful state park the ranger at the check-in office made it very clear that the bison don’t mess around. In fact, she said something I’ll never forget and definitely raised my awareness when I camped there for 5 days. I told her I have 2 dogs and she said, “The bison see them as predators, and they will remove them.”

Yikes.

I hope this woman recovers and never again underestimates a big bison grazing around with his (or her) family. I know I won’t take any chances, especially after seeing this video. I’m very grateful to have a zoom lens so I don’t need to get all up in their face. Here are a few of my favorite bison photos, all available for download or purchase. Print one out for your living room as a reminder to NOT get gored by a bison! And yes, that’s my travel trailer in the last photo. And yes, I was very nervous.

Call of Duty bombs in new commercial

I was watching NFL football recently and a commercial aired for a video game. I’ll admit the chant in the ad caught my attention. I was curious about which product was being advertised so I watched to the end. Definitely didn’t expect a video game! Take a look…

The Reaction. I’m not a “gamer” nor am I their target audience (based on this ad, at least), but it doesn’t look like the commercial is going over well with CoD fans. I’ll save you the trouble of reading the YouTube comments and sum them up in 2 words: commercial sucks. I might have found 2 or 3 comments that liked it but other than those, viewers are hating it big time. Like the guy who wrote this article about his love for the game but his disappointment in the ad.

The Cast. Check here for more details of the commercial with a few quotes from the creators at Activision plus, it’s where I found a pretty good list of cast members, including:

Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Pete Davidson, Kane Brown, Jalen Ramsey, David Long Jr., Nuke Squad (they posted a behind the scenes video), Lando Norris, and Bukayo Saka.

US of A. This commercial plays off the military cadence “left, left, left, right left” so I thought I’d leave you with patriotic photographs from my own personal collection. These are all available for download or purchase, so if you and your squad want to decorate your fancy gaming rooms, order one today!

These are photos from the last year and a half from camping and adventuring around the southeast United States. Flowers, though small, are bursting with beauty so I hope these photos captured at least a fraction of that! Thanks for checking out my photos today…

Subaru Shelter Dog Commercial – The Dogs, the Music, and More!

Subaru’s established themselves as the #1 dog-loving car company. I’ve written about them before with their “Underdog” commercial and now they’re back with a special needs shelter dog ad. It’s ok to have happy tears with this one.

Are there any animals as amazing as dogs? I mean, gosh, this commercial shows great examples of pups that, to say it simply, overcome. If your heart doesn’t melt for these dogs, then you need to be taken outside and spanked! More about Subaru’s commitment to our lovable companions can be found on their website here.

The dogs. You can find out more about each of these pups on Subaru’s Meet the Underdogs page. The awesome dogs featured in this commercial are…

The Music. The song playing underneath the ad is “Time” by David Ramirez.

My amazing pups. I’ll leave you with pics of my best beagle pups, Piper and Asia. The first pic is the first day I had Piper (the one with the big ears), I brought her to Petsmart to pick up all kinds of supplies. I adopted her from Happy Tales Humane Society in Franklin, TN. The next picture is Asia (blue eyes) from her adoption profile posted on Petfinder. Asia came from Love at First Sight! in Nashville, TN. To sum up the first time I saw each of them, there was no way I was going home without them.

Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson’s neck…

HelloOoOo and thanks for reading my blog today. I post every day at 1pm central about all kinds of things from dating to TV commercials. Today’s is about a movie trailer that’s been airing the last few weeks. Black Adam stars the one-and-only Dwayne Johnson. Here’s the trailer…

I’ll admit they trailer is well-done and the movie might be great. It’s a DC Comics character and those seem to do well (Batman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, etc). There are two things that bother me about the movie, though, just from viewing the trailer.

  1. Dwayne Johnson. Don’t get me wrong, I love him but I just can’t see him as a superhero/comic-type character. Fast and Furious, yes! The Game Plan, definitely! Jumanji, for sure! But in Black Adam, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see him as the character and not Dwayne Johnson.
  2. The neckline. The neckline of his superhero outfit is hideous. All I can think of every time I see it is the Hanes commercial where that guy has a flimsy, stretched out neckline on his shirt. I know Dwayne Johnson has a muscular neck and all, but there had to be another way!

With that said, time will tell if these two drawbacks will be mine alone or if fans will notice the same things and ticket sales will reflect it. My guess is that it will do fine in the theater and I’m just being weird, as usual. But as for the trailer itself, it’s well-done. Doesn’t seem to give anything away and that’s always the biggest complaint from fans… trailers sometimes show the entire movie in 2 minutes.

Did you notice the ocean scenes highlighted in the trailer? Lots of action and I love the ocean, so I’ll leave you with my very own photos of the ocean and various ocean-related things. Check out more of my best photos on my SmugMug page, all of which are available for purchase so take a chance and get a large print for your home or office!
